I notice the number of "Banned" votes has been gaining more proportionally.

Farooq Murad pointed to the spread of mosques and sharia, or Islamic law, as positive signs of the greater freedom Muslims are given in this country.

    Quote
He warned that any moves to restrict the expression of Islam by banning the veil or blocking the building of minarets would alienate the Muslim community and threaten social cohesion.
Mr Murad, who last month succeeded Dr Muhammad Abdul Bari as secretary general of the MCB, said: “Life in Britain is much more welcoming and healthy for Muslims than in other European countries.
“There’s a great British sense of fairness and justice. We can have great pride in what a tolerant country Britain is, looking at the growth of mosques, and how nearly more people eat halal meat than don’t.”

    Marvellous.

Lol - I think that quote, if Bari really said that, inadvertently sums up our politically correct, spineless MPs.
  • Re: Ban Niqab?

    Why?
I care less if people eat halal or kosher meat as long as it is taxed.

Our MPs have more strength than any in France. (No surprise there I suppose) Our MPs have not collapsed as other European countries have into this pathetic panicked frenzy against Muslims.

I think these kind of Muslims take the quote "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter" too far. In their mind freedom means privilege, and they try to trap British non-Muslims by making them think that because they generally favour "freedom" therefore they must favour privileges no matter who is benefitting from them. Amazingly, there are actually idiots out there falling for it.

The unlived life is not worth examining.
  • Re: Ban Niqab?

    Why?

Referring to the quote that Bari made that more people now eat halal meat than not in Britain.

~ 2.5 million Muslims in Britain.
    ~ 5.7% of the population are vegetarian = 61,414,062 * 0.057 = 3,500,601.534 people don't eat meat.

So, I really find it hard to believe Bari's quote that 55.4 Million people of meat eaters (excluding Muslims meat eaters) help the entire UK meat eater population to eat more halal meat than not.

Meat is meat. As long as it taste nice and gets past food health inspection. I could care less if it got baptised or slaughtered whilst Qu'ran is being read.

Yes, very important, I think. If the head of the Muslim Council of Britain is remarking an absurd comment like that - you've got to just wonder how much backbending MPs are doing to keep Muslims happy for the time being.

Sure, it will stop protests and tension in the short-term, but I think it is just passing the buck to a bigger problem in the long-term.

Some times religious people have some weird goals.  I mean the percentage of people of eat meat that followed your guidelines for killing animals? Even if they don't know about it?  As if God is going to be happy that more infidels are eating Halal meat.

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

No but it means their influence is spreading.

    Isn't it ironic ... don't you think ... ?

Not at all. Like I said, to them freedom means privileges. Just think of a privilege such as "having more mosques" or "being able to be ruled by our own laws". They just say "the freedom of..." before them to make them sound like freedoms instead of privileges. They're either stupid or crafty. Either way, non-Muslims are falling for it.
