He is very cool guy. I love him.  Afro

He tried to ban the Hijab in the early 70s but was unsuccessful. He is very pro-women rights.
He has a point by calling the Hijab a "Satanic order and not God's". He said acording to the Holy books (e.g. Bible) Satan (the talking snake) was the one who made us be aware of our nakedness. After that we started wearing the Fig leave. So the Hijabe is also from Satan's work. He said that a weak and easily manupilated lady would be in danger of rape even if she was covered with blankets from head to toe, unlike a strong and smart women, even wearing short skists they can have a strong personality that no one would dare touch her without her permission.

He said that Islam is a corropted religion, especially after the death of Mohamed. Do you know that he never says Mohamed Sala Allaho Alayhi Wa Salam thingy they say after Moes name? He is been labeld: Apostate and Kafir many times by KSA and Musilm states.

    Thanks RIBS,  Afro
He makes me laugh too.  He is anti-Islam in many areas because Islam draws people's attention away from worshipping him.  But he tries to use Islam where it suits him.

Last time I went to Jeddah there were people without the hijab and no one gave a shit. When I was at a mall in Riyadh, this random bearded dud start to whisper behind my back (loud enough that I heard) about how horrible it was I wasn't wearing hijab and saying "astagfirallah" over and over again... I was 11.  finmad

I thought you were Egyptian !!

I'm not sure this is true, but I heard that the only reason that girls aren't allowed to leave the country without their father's permission is that there were 2 girls who ran away.

So? what if they ran? what about boys? can't they run away?

I was wearing it the whole time we were there, at the end though, I was like: "Fuck this, it's uncomfortable" and got permission to take it off.
So not really, there weren't many people there at the end.

There are also a lot of people who do things like that if they see a bit of jeans when you move under the abaya.

Donno, I guess the father's don't want their ladies out of their influence but guys are a-okay. And don't forget if they have sex/raped, then it will disgrace them.

So how come Jeddah is so relatively liberal compared to the rest of the country? I just find it interesting that there is this internal variation in strictness.

I know one Muslim from India who went to Saudi Arabia. He said the only place where he didn't experience discrimination was some Medina Islamic school where everyone is of different backgrounds. But in Riyadh it was terrible. He was treated differently from the Saudis. He told me even non Saudi Arabs (Lebanese, Palestinian, Iraqi) are treated bad. For fucks sake, do Saudis only treat Saudi's with respect?

It seems like the only way to be treated kindly is if you are a Saudi male.

To be honest, I actually want to see Saudi Arabia collapse. Sounds cruel, but they don't deserve any of the wealth they have. Hey, the kuffar discovered the oil, with kuffar technology. Apparently, some of my old "brothers" who went for umrah said that when they have money, the Saudi government just makes gold everything. They put gold and other expensive stuff on everything (what they told me). REally, other than oil they have absolutely nothing.

You know what, I was wondering what the new cities they are building in Saudi Arabia are going to look like.
This is the article in 2008 about it.
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/7446923.stm

    excerpt as follows:
    Quote
New shopping centres are being built, like the enormous Red Sea Mall in Jeddah. Satellite television and music from the West are also having an impact on the youthful population.
There will be several universities in the new economic cities, which reforming Saudis believe could be the catalyst for social freedoms.
"This is part of a Kingdom-wide change in philosophy whereby we are improving education systems," said Mr Rasheed.
"In KAEC we will have a global education system that aspires to have students graduate at a global level in terms of their understanding of the world, how they view the world and how they want to be a part of it."
In Saudi Arabia you need to read between the lines. Most reformers quietly suggest that the cities of the future will be much freer than the rest of the country.
But will women be able to drive in the new cities? Will men and women be able to mingle freely in the developments as they do in the West or in many other Middle Eastern countries?
No one including the King seems prepared to answer those questions directly just yet.
Reform is coming but in a country with a strong religious establishment it will be a gradual and slow process. The King Abdullah Economic City seems likely to be at the forefront of the change.

Are they going to be liberal or conservative?  Dunno.

Interesting, didn't read that! Must be a big headache for King Abdullah, I can hear him thinking "How do I get this country to move forward without instigating another siege on the Kaaba?".
