My kitten, or toddler cat in cat years, did what she was naturally born to do and caught a mouse yesterday.

I was making a cup of tea and as I went to grab the milk from the fridge I noticed that mysty (that's her name) had something long hanging out of her mouth.  Knowing that there are mice in the house I pretty much knew what it had to be.

Anyway it must have taken me a minute of so to catch her, and she was not pleased at all when I tried taking the dead mouse away from her, she actually growled at me  Cheesy lol.

Damn me for my weepy ways but I had the dead tiny tiny mouse in my hand and I almost cried, nature truly is cruel, unescapable but cruel.

I mean I feel a sense of pride that she is a good hunter because I play alot of pounce hunt games with her, a book I have says it's good practise for them as kittens, but I also feel bad for the mice.  Cry

So anyway, that's my entry for now.  Wink

We have an early summer in Pakistan: cool breezes, bright sunlight, birds nesting all over (a couple of sparrows have built a nest on my neighbours' windowsill Smiley )....

But we also get some less welcome visitors....

    COCKROACHES

No sign of them in the winters, as soon as the weather gets warm, they crawl out from the drains running across the floors at night. Why early last morning I was greeted by at least a dozen denizens of the drains lurking in the usually spotless kitchen  Shocked

What the hell does this have to do with your kitten? I'll tell you ...as I swept them outside in a fury Baseball bat, they were set upon by my chubby little kitten...I didn't know she had such diverse culinary tastes  wacko  I didn't stay to watch vomit

In Morocco the cockroaches were in large numbers too, scuttling across the floor, before we would catch them and try to race them, laying bets on whose cockroach would come in first.  whistling2

I am glad you were so proud of her you sent forth weeps of joy at her accomplishment at weeding out the plague-carrier. I mean, You did wash your hands, right?

    Wikipedia: Black Plague

The Black Death, or the Black Plague, was one of the most deadly pandemics in human history, widely thought to have been caused by a bacterium named Yersinia pestis.[1] It probably began in Central Asia[2] and spread to Europe by the late 1340s.[3] The total number of deaths worldwide from the pandemic is estimated at 75 million people;[4] there were an estimated 25-50 million deaths in Europe.[5][6][7] The Black Death is estimated to have killed 30% to 60% of Europe's population.[8][9][10] It may have reduced the world's population from an estimated 450 million to between 350 and 375 million in 1400.[11]

The same disease is thought to have returned to Europe every generation with varying virulence and mortalities until the 1700s.[12] During this period, more than 100 plague epidemics swept across Europe.[13] On its return in 1603, the plague killed 38,000 Londoners.[14] Other notable 17th century outbreaks were the Italian Plague of 1629-1631, the Great Plague of Seville (1647-1652), the Great Plague of London (1665–1666),[15] the Great Plague of Vienna (1679). There is some controversy over the identity of the disease, but in its virulent form, after the Great Plague of Marseille in 1720–1722[16] and the 1771 plague in Moscow it seems to have disappeared from Europe in the 19th century.

The 14th century eruption of the Black Death had a drastic effect on Europe's population, irrevocably changing Europe's social structure. It was a serious blow to the Roman Catholic Church, and resulted in widespread persecution of minorities such as Jews, foreigners, beggars, and lepers. The uncertainty of daily survival created a general mood of morbidity, influencing people to "live for the moment", as illustrated by Giovanni Boccaccio in The Decameron (1353).

"Ask the slave girl; she will tell you the truth.' So the Apostle called Burayra to ask her. Ali got up and gave her a violent beating first, saying, 'Tell the Apostle the truth.'"

Yes, lazy ol me has decided that it is no use sitting around moaning about my slight weight gain, and thinking about starving myself and letting my builimia come back, when I could just go gym with the same dedication I showed to eating disorders.

So I have new trainers, new very cute track suit comprised of knee length black and gold addidas bottoms, and addidas vests to match (I am vain lol).

I have the money (well I will be spending money that should go eslewhere but fuck it, it's worth it) and the gym is offering a 3months for the price of 1 month new member offer, so it would be stupid not to take advantage of this.

I am really unfit though, not looking forward to panting and sweating in front of people as I try to get fit lol

Hurray, Berbs! Good for you! IF you stick with it, it will do you a world of good, and not only physically, trust me!
the others will be sweating just like you, so don´t worry about that. In my gym, we have a good mix of super-fit/slim/gorgeous twenty-year old blondie bimbos, and overweight/elderly/don´t look at me grannies (literally) and everything in between. Honestly - looking at the others when taking a shower makes one aware, that one ISN`T the lone loser in a world of supermodels, but well able to compete with quite a lot of them....

That sounds like a bonus I could use lol  Tongue

I am looking forward to it, I am worried that I will give up at the first hurdle (as I have done before), mind you the last time I tried the gym I was 16  Shocked, maybe I have better commitment to a plan nowadays.   whistling2

I want to stick at it though, I want to get into the swing of it, they say exercise is good for depression because it releases endorphins, and I am very very depressed right now.

Feel like I am sinking and falling and nothing is getting better.  Cry

So, whatever, going to try to do something to not feel so bored and empty every day.  Afro

Well - I tried and failed the gym before, too... what kept ME going was falling in love, ahem, and wanting to look my best for "my man".  Roll Eyes ... well, one gets into a habit after a while, and your body lets you know it WANTS to go there. Try different things - I started with treadmill and machines, then started doing gymnastic-classes instead (body-shape and "problem-zones" - how girly!!) - that worked well for me. And DO try and go at LEAST twice a week, three if you can make it (you will see results if you do that, and that helps in keeping morale up... your body will feel differently pdq - you are young, so your body will react quickly). Try and make it part of your routine and promise yourself you ll keep that up for at least six weeks... then, a habit has formed, I think. that makes it easier to keep going.
Check out all the courses they have, and settle on something you enjoy doing, and that makes you feel good. You are not overweight, so just getting out of the house regularly, work your body to the max, and release endorphines while toning up is the thing for you, I think.
Oh - and if they have a sauna - try and use that, too! It´s like a holiday, to spend two hours there, relaxing, sweating, putting on a facial mask in between sittings, getting a scrub etc... lovely, and makes one feel good about oneself, too!

Yep, I get free use of the sauna too, so I shall be making plenty use of that, I also get a personal trainer as part of the package, but I could only afford that as a monthly check to see how I am doing and to motivate me.

I intend to stick at it, I do I do I do.  finmad

Ok, it is done.  Cost me £390 for a year, but I have 3 months to pull out if I change my mind.

I am going tomorrow for the one hour induction and to meet with the personal trainer who will make a plan for me.

Then after that I am free to use the gym as often as I like, the workout classes and the swimming pool, sadly they don't have a sauna  and if I had wanted to use the other centres where they do have saunas it would have cost me an extra £100 on top, which just isn;t worth it.

I am very nervous about this, I just don't want to fail and quit, because I am such a quitter.  I quit when things get too hard, I hate that about myself, and when I try to change that, I fail at changing which gives me more reason to beat myself up.  Roll Eyes
