Ok, since you were the one pushing the case and you're half Moroccan how exactly is the problem racism? Sounds like bullshit to me.

Of course it's bullshit, but not from my solicitor, I noticed the way the entire case swung in his favour when he complained of racism, and my being half moroccan was no help, since the racism was to do with religion (Islam is a race didn't you know  Roll Eyes) and that was under attack.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

Yes, yet again a family member has turned up at my door running away from the psychos I call parents.

My 17yr old brother turned up in the afternoon today, after questioning why he was here he told me my step mother, his natural mother, pulled a knife on him and was holding him with the knife against him threatening to kill him.  I mean he did do something he shouldn't have, but isn't that fucking extreme?

She sounds like a danger to the people around her. Isn't there something that can be done for her?

1939, T.S. Eliot declared: “When a word acquires a universally sacred character . . . , as has today the word democracy, I begin to wonder, whether, by all it attempts to mean, it still means anything at all.”

I'm not sure - but I believe it has something to do with the shape of one's face.

She is on pills, but they are no help.  She hasn't had a good life either, I really pity her inspite of everything she has done, because I understand madness and rage, if not to the level she lets loose.

But then if I was raised in Morocco where beating your children is the name of the game, would I be just as violent?

I just about hold myself back from the edge, and am fortunate enough that I was raised in a country where that kind of behaviour is unacceptable.

All that is left to them now is 2 daughters, one who is disabled, and one who is 14 and starting to be a whole bucket full of trouble herself.

My brother asked if he could join this site, and pleaded with me not to damn him lol I said if he played up I would have to damn him and that I wouldn't want to be embarrassed by his behaviour lol  Roll Eyes

I am not sure if I feel he is ready to join, what do you think?

He is very against the idea of me being punished for being an apostate. Said he refuses to accept that part of Islam.

If I let him join I worry that some members would put too much pressure on him. :-\

By being too harsh in the way they teach him what Islam really is about.  Or by being too harsh because of the fact that he still identifys as a muslim.

Take rational1, she was an ex muslim who felt under attack by Baal in her first thread, my brother is only 17 and all his friends are muslim, his life is the muslim community, even if it is the bad boy element of it, it would be really difficult for him to face that just yet.

I don't know, I guess I am worried about how much grief learning all of this would be for him, the choices after, I just wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Has he lurked around a bit here?  If so, and he still wants to join, I don't see that it would do any harm. Plus, he's got big sis to defend him if people get too heavy. Wink

He has lurked over my shoulder whilst I have been on here.

I could defend him lol but he may react in a way that would mean I would have to moderate him inspite of him being my brother.

It's alot to take in and he is much more community based than I ever was.

I have told him plenty too, now he wants to come here and see what this is all about.

I guess I am just nervous.

Well, you know best, but I don't see how it would do any harm.  Especially as you can talk to him in real life if things look like they are escalating here, and calm things down that way.

Well as long as he knows the joint isn't pro-Islam and is prepared to take a break if he starts winding up there shouldn't be any major problems.

Just make bloody sure there's no way he can access your admin account. That could be very inconvenient.

I think that is well old enough, but then again at 17 I had to buy my own food and pay rent, so I had no cotton wool around me.

My half brothers and sisters are just not mature for their ages, they have no idea about life or consequences, used to being babyfied for everything.  Roll Eyes

There is alot of naivity in them, but of course the parents seek to shelter tham as much as possible from the reality of life, and bring them up with the idealism of Islam, which is hardly idealistic in practise.
