    Gender: Female
    Location: Malaysia
    Beliefs: Atheist
    Reasons
    1) Hypocritical faith. How it criticizes science when it doesn't go along with them but immediately agrees and become prideful when it does.
    2) Existence of God, Heaven and Hell. How he'd would throw people into Hell for not believing him.
    3) Simply human rights. Treatment of apostates, of people of different sexual/romantic preferences and even of females within the religion.

    A lot honestly  wacko

    Gender: Male
    Location: United Kingdom
    Ethnicity : Pakistani Origin
    Nationallity : British Pakistani
    Beliefs: Atheist
    Raasons :

    1) Stopped praying and believing.
    2) None of the religions make any sense in the real world
    3) Islam is the most barbaric by far
    4) This is a bonus : I'm too sexual by nature to be a muslim anyway, I love everything sexy and pornographic.

    Name: Hira
    Gender: Female
    Country: Pakistan
    Beliefs: Atheist
Reason: A functional brain. Allah looks like a misogynist homophobe, who loved teaching how to beat your wife in quran but forgot to mention the cure of cancer or the punishment of rape.
    And then there is science.

    Gender: Male
    Country: Pakistan
    Beliefs: Atheist
    Reason:
    Inconsistencies of religions with science.
    Acceptance of slavery in Islam
If there really was a God, he/she should have informed about his/her presence to all the human beings not just few "chosen" people.

An endangered rational thinker in Pakistan.

    Gender: Female
    Location: Kenya
    Beliefs: Atheist/anti-theist
Reasons: Many but will narrow down to:-
    1) I have never been fond of myths/legends/folktales and always asked for proof of any story told to me even in my childhood.
    2) If Allah really was mighty/merciful/full of wisdom, he wouldn't let kids suffer in the world - c'mon why is'nt he smiting down pedophiles? - just an example
    3) Women are not equal to men in Islam - big issue for me.
    4) I believe scientific evidence & Islam says science is bullshit!

If I go on I might write a book so stop there for now. Can I now have the ex-Muslim badge??? grin12

Tired of the bull-shit. I write my own doctrines.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

    Gender: Female
    Beliefs: Atheist
Reasons: A lot, especially the constant use of apologia, the insistence that any criticism of Islam equals racism(??) and the persistence refusal to listen to criticism and acknowledge self-inflicted wounds. It was the lack of actual science in the Qur'an that did it for me.

Even when I wore a headscarf and was Muslim, I became soured and disillusioned towards other Muslims due to the above. I once tried to talk to a friend about my criticisms of Muslims in general, and another person kept butting in to deflect my criticisms because she didn't want to hear it. I was very irritated.

Also this "only we like you, they [non-Muslims, esp. white people] HATE you" mentality which is rife among Desi muslim communities in the UK, from my experience.

    Name: Hassan
    Gender: Male
    Beliefs: Antitheist
    Location (of Origin): Pakistan
    Current Location: UK

    Reasons:
    1. A most beautiful person who thought she might want to be with me started looking into Islam to decide if she would be willing to convert if she had to. What followed was countless discussions and many long nights where we both realised the extent of the horribleness of Islam, leading me to denounce my faith.
    2. There are many inconsistencies and self-contradictions within Islam. It does not stand logically.
    3. God never answered my prayers.

    Gender: Male
    Location: London
    Beliefs: Ex-Muslim, Skeptical Agnostic
    Reasons:
    - Allah's cruel nature
    - The fallibility of Quran
    - Lack of rights for women in Islam
    - Truculent apologia (obvious)
    - The incompatibility of science and religion (Gould's NOMA is interesting though)
    - Bacon
    - And many more

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: ' O Lord make my enemies ridiculous.' And God granted it.

    Gender: Female
    Country: UK
    Beliefs: Agnostic
Reasons: Factual errors and inconsistencies in the Quran, a misogynistic and sadistically cruel god, generally inhumane practices being allowed (such as slavery, child marriage, discrimination towards others based on their beliefs etc.)

I joined this forum a doubting Muslim then apostasised after a few months. I memorised the Quran as a child and there were things I was always uncomfortable with but only started to actually question them a couple of years before apostasy.

    Religion is a mental disease

    - Believing in something that is colorless, odorless, insipid called God

    - Letting that God order you how you should live your life, and how to beat your wife Cheesy

    - Moreover, having a teleological way of thinking, everything must have a purpose. That's why they cannot bear not having an answer for the origin of life, any answer even fallacious one is better than nothing.

    - Not having any proof but an old book of the 7th Century that pledge fire and eternal torture for the unbelievers

    Gender: Male
Country: The Netherlands  - but of Turkish descent; both parents are Turkish.
    Belief: Deist
    Reason:

I actually believe in a Creator based on the evidence I see in the universe, information in the cell and in the DNA,  but not in the God or Allah of the Abrahamic religions. My main reason for leaving Islam;  Because according to the Qur'an, all non-Muslims will burn in an eteral hellfire. The Qur'an very clearly says that regardless of how many good deeds non-Muslims do, they will end up in an eternal Hell. That means billions of human beings will go to an eternal Hell. This alone was more than enough for me to conclude that the author of these sentences could not have been a "Merciful God".

    Hi Aziz ,

I want to get my name added in the list as well  , below are my details :

    NAME : AUN ABBAS
    COUNTRY : UK

    REASONS FOR LEAVING ISLAM :

1 : Islam is cruel , it is arrogant , and it encourages hate in different manners.
2 : I realised that Islam is basically a mind control , and I no more need some stupid literature to dictate my life
3 : Also all the problems in this world today or were in the era before caused by the religion , most of them , and I did loads of research and came to a single conclusion that religion was basically created by some creative people , and it was accepted by those who wanted to be controlled and dictated.

I am a FREE MAN today with this illusion of religion or god , this is a true freedom. And i am a convinced ATHEIST.

Please add my name in the list Smiley

    Regards
    Aun

    Gender: Male
    Location: UK
    Beliefs: Atheist
    Reasons:
    1. Can't believe that an all-knowing deity can say that the earth was created in a geocentric universe.
    2. I have daughters. I can't accept that they are second class citizens.
    3. I have surpassed the morality of a deity that allows slavery

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you're one of the facts that needs altering
