     OP - March 21, 2010, 07:27 PM

Post something which the Koran condemns or disapproves of, that is not listed here yet:

    http://www.councilofexmuslims.com/wiki/en/The_Koran_Condemns

Also think about things which it does not condemn but should have in clear terms.

Good, but that comes from the hadith. I think that should go into a separate thread "What the Hadith condemn."

Let's concentrate on the Koran in this thread. Smiley

Yes I always found that verse odd. It is hard not to see some sort of sexual implication there.

Quran condemns having sex with wife\wives when they're menstruating.

2:222 They question thee (O Muhammad) concerning menstruation. Say: It is an illness, so let women alone at such times and go not in unto them till they are cleansed. And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allah hath enjoined upon you. Truly Allah loveth those who turn unto Him, and loveth those who have a care for cleanness.

You mean Allah Smiley Allah the Lord of the Universe doesn't like the soap opera of a 7th century prophet and his wives. In the book of books, a tablet preserved for all time he put this information down. Why is this relevant today? Nobody knows but I'm sure people can cook up answer.

    -Gambling
-Sacrificing in the name of other than Allah
-Building mosques on graves (Ironic, cuz the mosque in Medina has the prophet's grave inside)
    -Magic, and witchcraft
    -Premarital sex
    -False testimony

Allah objects to fornication and adultery but he seems to recommend sex slavery  (23:5-6, 70:29-30).

    How about this one ?

How is that for an eternal message - very relevant today eh ?

33.53 . O ye who believe! Enter not the dwellings of the Prophet for a meal without waiting for the proper time , unless permission be granted you . But if ye are invited , enter , and , when , your meal is ended , then disperse . Linger not for conversation . Lo! that would cause annoyance to the Prophet , and he would be shy of ( asking ) you ( to go ) ; but Allah is not shy of the truth . And when ye ask of them ( the wives of the Prophet ) anything , ask it of them from behind a curtain . That is purer for your hearts and for their hearts . And it is not for you to cause annoyance to the messenger of Allah , nor that ye should ever marry his wives after him . Lo! that in Allah ' s sight would be an enormity .

    Forbids the wife from disobeying.
Forbids the muslim from disobeying the muslim leadership (wali/khalifa)
Forbids taking the witness of a woman as equal to the man, in financial matters explicitly and all other matters implicitly.
Forbids the equal distribution of inheritance.
    Forbids adoption.
Forbids a wife from being inherited after her husband is dead.

YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will...

    004.022
YUSUFALI: And marry not women whom your fathers married,- except what is past: It was shameful and odious,- an abominable custom indeed.

But these versus are about forbidding marriage to stepmums or against someones will.  Little to do with stopping widows from marrying again, if I interpreted correctly.

Baal didn't say widows can't marry again.

He said the Qur'an: "Forbids a wife from being inherited after her husband is dead."
