    Strangely enough, I am finding a surge in viewings of my videos too since Hass uploaded this video.  Had a look at why, and the surges is coming from this video.  A few of my videos come up , as other videos you might want to watch, on the right hand side when watching this video.

    War is never easy.  According to the Qur'an, God had to admonish the believers to do it: "perhaps you dislike something that is good for you?  Killing is indeed wrong, but it is worse to allow yourself to be oppressed."

    Sure.  The pagan Meccans were literally trying to wipe them out, for economic reasons, but Muhammad (pbuh) was wrong for telling them to defend themselves.

    I don't know to what extent we can really say for certain that the Muslims were "outnumbered". Based on the carrying capacity of the land around Mecca (it is one of the most barren deserts in the world, totally unsuitable for any form of agriculture). It is unlikely that Mecca could have been even a village. We are most likely talking about a tiny hamlet of about 10 buildings that may have been a site of pilgrimage for various Bedouin tribes but not a permanent place of dwelling. The stories of Muhammad fighting glorious battles and laying siege to great cities with giant walls are most likely exaggerations, where each generation exaggerated a little more  as the tales were passed along. The "battles" that Muhammad fought in may have been nothing more than small skirmishes involving 10-20 people. And the "caravan raids" may have been nothing more than 5 dudes in the desert jumping on a few camels carrying some dates.

    Muhammad's base, Medina (known as Yathrib at that time) did have a long history as a town and so was more likely to be able to support an actual "army" than Mecca. So it is possible that once he got the majority of the inhabitants to support him, he would be able to raise a larger army than Mecca, but we are still talking about relatively small numbers.
