I've been reading the "Women" thread and I feel that I need to defend my character and set the record straight since I won't be coming back in any permanent capacity. I find the presumption by some that I am a misogynist and a sexist pig of some sort deeply insulting and definitely a piece of slander that I can't just let slide without at least one last attempt to defend myself. I have at no point in real life or any forums (including CEMB) ever expressing derision for women, women's rights, or women's dignity in any serious capacity. I am not a misogynist nor a sexist. I have 2 sisters, and a mother that I love very much.
You may not realise it but the last sentence isn't relevant. It is common even for mysogynists to venerate their mother and sisters by applying different standards to them. "Their" women get classified differently to other women.
Women who are very free and independent minded and would never take shit from a man - verbal or physical. I've been raised all my life by a very proud and independent woman, and I've always respected that. So this automatic assumption that I am somehow in any way shape or form derisive in my attitudes towards women because of a stupid and ill-advised Family Guy reference is way out of bounds. It's a family guy joke, not 4:34!

Anyway, it wasn't the Family Guy reference. That was a small side issue.
I think the problem here is not about young males attitudes towards women or homosexuality, its about a genuine generational and cultural divide that some of you fail to get.

My generation is the Beavis & Butthead/South Park/Family guy generation. Derisive offensive humour is part of our culture and the way we speak. I know some of you gasp at this but my friends call each other fags, niggers, pakis, sand niggers, kikes, honkies and rednecks all the time.
You think this is only happening in your generation? Fuck's sake boyo, it's been happening for yonks. My generation do the same thing. Basically, anywhere you get a group of men they'll slag each other off in one way or another as part of the male bonding stuff. It's normal.
I've called women bitches, lesbos, hos, slutty and what not and it has earned my a smack now and then, but most girls know I'm just being a dick. We are vulgar and sickening to be around, no doubt. But we are in no way shape or form racist, homophobic or sexist, we are post racial/sexist and kind of stupid.

Your behaviour is the same as dickheads from time immemorial and your motivations are the same. You have superseded nothing. You are still in the same situation.
