They could send Farfur, the Palestinian, Jew-hating mouse on a martyrdome mission to kill his evil cousin Mickey.... Oh, wait!  Farfour is already a shaheed!  :'(

    Quote
    Deceased
    [edit] Farfour (April 2007-June 2007)
Farfour (Arabic: فرفور‎; also rendered as Farfur), a Mickey Mouse-like mouse[18], is a costumed character with a high-pitched voice who co-hosted Tomorrow's Pioneers with Saraa. His name comes from a diminutive of fi'r which means "mouse" in Arabic[4].

On the show, Farfour has expressed radical views. He has stated such things as: "You and I are laying the foundation for a world led by Islamists"[19] and "We will return the Islamic community to its former greatness, and liberate Jerusalem, God willing, liberate Iraq, God willing, and liberate all the countries of the Muslims invaded by the murderers."[18][19] In episode 103, he simulates shooting an AK-47 and throwing grenades.[4][20]

In episode 105 (aired June 22, 2007), Farfour dies during an interrogation by an Israeli who is trying to acquire the key and title to "Tel al-Rabi", a fictional Palestinian settlement which was supposedly occupied by Israelis and renamed to Tel Aviv. Farfour calls him a "terrorist" and is beaten to death.[21][22] Farfour is replaced as co-host in episode 202 by Nahoul, his bumblebee cousin. The idea for the story arc involving Farfour's death came from Al-Sha'arawi.[14] It was initially claimed that the death of Farfour was intended to usher in a new direction for the show.[23]

Other Palestinian children's programs have allegedly used the Mickey Mouse image to incite radical activities. According to the Anti-Defamation League, a 1998 episode of the program The Children's Club on official Palestinian Authority television had a "Mickey Mouse"-type figure amidst children praising suicide attacks against Israelis.[5]

The Disney corporation initially had no public statement on the use of Mickey Mouse's image in the Farfour character; Disney CEO Robert Iger later said, "We were appalled by the use of our character to disseminate that kind of message." He explained the initial quiet by saying, "I just didn't think it would have any effect... I think it should have been obvious how the company felt about the subject." [24].

When ever I show those to my Muslim friends all I can see is a mixture of shock, horror and disbelief that such a person can get time on air. Then again, I think he is more representative of the Middle East, backwards cultures and stupidity in general rather than Islam over all. Too bad there are whole cheerleaders out there who follow Zakir Naik like fan girls at a Robbie Williams concert - watching the 'shows' in India and Pakistan, legions of half witts slobbering up the crap he and out Muslim Viking friend Abdul Rahim Green.

In some of those talks with Zakir Naik in India, there must be atleast 80-100,000 people, I saw the camera showing the audience and its MASSIVE. Shows that he really is popular in South Asia.

I'm not surprised it gains so much support though given the built in bind adherence, guru and swami worship, superstitious beliefs like placing the Qur'an on the top shelf in the home or holding it over a married couple being nothing more than logical extensions of their idol worshipping roots, this stupidity of getting dressed up in shalwar kameez which has some sort of pathetic ora of being more 'authentic' - the list could go on and on and on.

I asked some "Sunnah brothers" in my University why the Muslim world is failing. Their response? Islam doesn't need a reformation because Islam is perfect, Muslims are not blah blah blah lol. Like praying on time, avoiding Bidah and fasting more, and reading more Qur'an is really going to transform the Muslim world into some super empire Roll Eyes

To a certain extent they are right; Islam isn't something like a physical object that simply 'exists', its 'existence' is dependent upon people interpreting it and what we see today and what we see for the last 1400 years are attempts by man to understand and implement Islam. The problem happens when people claim, as Salafi's and other nutcases, that there was a pure pristine version of Islam and some how they can bring it back into 2010 through strict literalist observance. Romanticisation of the past in the belief that there was a perfect time in the past and that it was firstly because of 'pure Islam' being in existence and up to them to resurrect it.

I think Islam's prime was in the golden age when it was from Spain to Morocco to China, the whole Islamic Spain thing. I think that was the prime of Islam and the Muslims at the time. With the way things are going, I don't think Islam will ever reach that peak that it once did in the past. I don't think Muslims will also become some superpower of the world like they were a long time ago. My wording is odd I know lol

Well, it peaked because it hadn't beens solidified yet - Islam is in its most dynamic when it is the most fluid; when there are competing ideas, alternative view points, different groups doing their own thing, cross pollination between the different partitioners - thing started to decline as soon as Islam started to become rigid, orthodoxy developed, the rejection of philosophy in favour of blind adherence to tradition thanks to the rantings of Imam Al Ghazili and re-enforced with the closing of the doors to itijihad in the 10th century.

Yeap, I've still got to give 'The Incoherence of the Philosophers' a decent go over since I've only browsed it lightly. I do have 'Disciplining the soul/breaking the two desires', 'Invocations', ''divine unity; trust in divine providence' and a few others that have escaped my mind.

As for jihadist books, I have read both 'social justice in Islam' and 'milestones' by Sayyid Qutb.

I don't believe there is something called "Real Islam" but I'm afraid they are closer to what Muhammad brought than your - and my-  liberal Muslims friends, Kaiwai.

Well the mumbling comment was directed at the Indian guy who asked the question.

Well, given out Muslim Viking friend is hardly the life of the party I doubt he would have been invited to many parties - then again, I swear the only purpose of Muslims is to simple be the wet blanket at parties; to try and destroy what ever fun and excitement there is in life.
