Apple makes very good and user-friendly products, but they are very totalitarian with respect to who can run what kind of software on their iPhone. You can't sell any of your programs in the App Store unless it's approved by Apple.
And recently they have changed the Program License Agreement for developers who want to write software for the iPhone. They specifically demand that you
originally write your software in one of the 3 approved programming languages. The emphasis is on "originally" because that way they can prevent Adobe from getting a foothold in the iPhone application market. Apple doesn't allow Flash on the iPhone, and Adobe has developed a piece of software that can convert any Flash app into an app that is native to the iPhone.
Apple can basically screw anyone over with their locked platform and the users are loving it!
