It was unsophisticated, heavily cliched, and with few exceptions simply not funny.
That's similar to what I heard from a friend who went to see it.
Hassan, an Islamic Life of Brian would be great, but it would involve the mocking and depiction of Mo and other sacred figures of Islam, which would set the throat cutters in motion. Something like The Infidel just seems to be messing around with stereotypes and foibles of religious practise, which is good in its own right, but Life of Brian is so powerfully subversive because it gets right to the root of Christianity and explodes it with satire and one of the funniest movies ever.
The Life of Mo is ripe for that kind of piss take, but there's no actors or directors woho could ever risk it.
