Masturbate. Everyday. Three times a day. That's what I do when I'm bored. I do it until my dick starts hurting.

That's one of the purposes of this forum -- to give young apostates a place to vent their frustrations, and seek advice; or just read about how other people are coping.  Many of us are a bit fucked-up because of how we were brought up.  I, personally, have learnt to live with it, and in fact, I am enjoying teaching myself the skills that I lack.  Just remember, success breeds confidence -- which in turn breeds more success.  Smiley

Darkeyed.... would you be willing to learn a new craft?

Cities and towns usually have tons of fun things you can do that
are halal, that wont raise any suspcions. I taught myself how to do
beadwork, cross stitching, plymer clay art, needlepoint, wood working,
making miniatures, and making jewelry ALL from

    www.about.com

They offer caligraphy, and every form of art you can imagine!  Anything
and everything you EVER wanted to know about, even japanese cooking lol
is there! Smiley  type anything in the search box and voila!   It shows you step
by step how to do it!

Heres the page where i just typed in "needlework"
but you can choose whatever you want.
I found it most theraputic, especially being alone.  Helped take my mind off
of so much crap ive been through, and instead able to make something
    beuatiful with that funky energy

most of us here are all in the same situation, especially living under lie, it's difficult that you can't have a decent conversation with a muslim friend without bringing the topic of religion into it.
I just came home from college for weekend yesterday , and now am regretting for coming home.
My Father built a mosque in our compound even though there is another one two blocks away from our home. so which means i have to pray 5 times there or else i will be in trouble with my father especially Subh prayer(it drives me crazy finmad anytime he comes to my room and wake me up) and not only that, I have attend every sermon that is taking place in our mosque. anytime we have a big quarrel with my dad is because i missed prayer seriously this has been going on since when i was 7 and he never gets tired of nagging anytime i missed one.i mean doesn't he ever think like "okay i have had enough of shouting at this boy for missing sallah" and then cut me some slack. thank god i am going to back to school tommorow.

I left Islam a few years after graduating from university so my problems were slightly different to yours, and I had a bit more power to walk away from all the hell (which I did in the end).

What most Muslims do & say is not necessarily representative of Islam (although it may be a sugar coated by-product).  What the books say & what the prophet said, that is the only real way of getting closer to the truth.

Saudi Arabia is probably the closest example.

You pretend like there's one version of the "truth".

Even within Islam there are many schools of thought which are accepted. Islam isn't a monolith; there's more to it than puritanism.

According to Muhammed there is one version of Islam.  People have bastardised this through the times for their personal desire & agendas.

If you read the Quran, hadith, sira and the life & times of the prophet, they its fairly consistent in their no-nonsense strongly conservative approach - and that is what I was getting at.

Exactly lol - I was a deobandi too, its a tranquilised version of wahhabism but it is a relatively new movement that only began about 150 years ago and is predominantly with SE Asia.  No doubt heavily influenced by the wandering mystic peaceful sufi's that brought a lot of Islam to that area. That is changing with salafi petro-dollar influence from Saudi.

Note sufi's are not only Muslims, but you get sufi's from all sorts of religions and music is a strong part of their culture.

I've never quite understood the difference between a deobandi and a wahhabi.  What do they differ in?

Actually, there's a hadith saying that there are many opinions within Islam and they are all accepted. Obviously that was to cover up Muhammad contradicting himself. I don't remember it, though.

Deobandis dont have as strict an interpretation of the Quran, and have stresses on different areas e.g. there is a greater focus on the rituals with Deobandis, as opposed to the duties in the Quran.

However with wider accessibility and translations available, rather than the chinese whispered version, the distinctions are becoming more blurred.

Actually there are many female Arab singers and tens of dedicated music channels that play such songs. Some of these channels' headquarters/studios are in Saudi Arabia. And the average Saudi receives all these channels on their satellite receiver. As to whether it is allowed to play these channels in cafes and such, I don't know.

I think that's sort of 1 reason why sunni islam is good there's no pope or ayatollah that has the final word there are differences of opinion the famous salafi scholar albani agreed that women should be allowed to drive and that the niqab is not necessary. Your right, if you accept the hadith, there's a line that can justify anything, literally anything, you want yes

That also includes murder & paedophilia unfortunately.
