"He apologised for comments he made last year criticising his opponents' use of the Quran in political campaigning suggesting to Muslim constituents that they cannot be governed by a person of another faith."

Wow, so the man was being degraded when other politicians were using their religion to "prove" that he was a lesser human being, incapable of being a leader due to his religion. Yet when he defended himself, that made him a criminal?

I'm not, just pissed off.

Certain religious folk (and to a lesser degree, certain non-religious folk) seem determined to drag the world back to the Stone Age. All that surprises me is that these "chosen people" are surprised that they have such a poor reputation for the treatment of their minorities.
