    Hi all,
Near death experience is a term that I came to know recently over internet. Though I didn't go through any NDE in my life.....I would love to hear from any ExMuslim if they every went through this and what did they feel ?

I have had a NLE  Tongue, for a split second life seemed worth living  Cheesy , but then reality kicked in and I knew it was a fantasy.

No, seriously though, the closest I have ever come to experiencing what NDE claim to have seen, was when I used to go to secondary school and a game called "sleepers" was the rage on the playground.

You basically choked your friend until they passed out.  You had to inhale and exhale deeply and rapidly for 20-25 in inhalations, and then someone would strangle you until you hit the floor.

So I let my friend do it for me since everyone had prety much had a go (pfft peer pressure lol).

Next thing I know I am out for the count.  During that time I saw my real mother at the end of a long tunnel of light and she kept calling me to come to her.  At this time I was kind of thinking that my real father had murdered my real mum and buried her in our back garden (that is what me and my sisters thought, or that she was a big star in hollywood and that is why she had run away lol), so anyway seeing her when I was out for the count just made me think even more that she was dead and her calling me was asking me to join her.  So I didn't take her hand as I got closer and turned away and woke up on the floor with my head pounding.

Apparantly I had been having a fit on the floor because my friends didn't hold me properly when I passed out so my head smashed into a sink on the way down to the ground.

The stupid things teenagers do what?  Lol so anyway, that's about as close as I have ever been to seeing something, or being able to report something when I have been out for the count.

On the other hand in January this year when I really did almost die, I saw nothing, but I was under anasthetic at the time that my heart stopped so maybe thats why I didn't see anything. Whereas with the fainting games in school, I went down expecting to see something.

    I dunno.

Inhale the good shit, exhale the bullshit.

Wow Berbs! What's your view on NDEs in general based on your experience?

I don't really know to be honest. I don't consider the experience I had a NDE because it was just a game the kids played.  I think I saw what i wanted to see.  I think NDE are just people seeing what they want to see.

I saw my mum because I already half way believed she was dead, i think I wanted to see that.

    Fair enough view point.

I have an interest in near death experiences, and although there are similarities or consistent 'themes' to near death experiences, It's also obvious - and admitted by researchers - that people's expectations shape the experience.

I played that game too... the shit kids do.

I have researched it a lot in religious point of view. Muslims see angels, But christians see Jesus. So I think its just an illusion, nothing to do with afterlife

That is interesting, and I kinda believe that too. I saw and felt something too when I took those pills. But like yourself I rather not talk about it.

It was 2008 and I was vacationing in Bangladesh while I was 11. The night before I ate two huge prawns. The next morning (at 5 am) I started to cough for no reason. After an hour or two I got hives everywhere. We couldn't call the ambulance (in Bangladesh they are painfully slow) so we had to call my aunt who is a doctor. So for the next couple of minutes I gorged on a whole bunch of Quaker Chewy Bars (the medicine said I had to have a full stomach). After a couple of bars my throat started to close and then I threw up a bar I was eating (by the time I was really pale and I felt like I was dying). Then my aunt gave me some anti-allergy meds mixed with steroids . After I took the medicine I passed out. I learned later that I had a severe allergic reaction to shrimp and now I can't ever eat shrimp or any other shellfish ever again, which sucks because shrimp is my favourite Cry.

No that's not true. It's true that people get feedback of their previously held beliefs, but many people experience things that are counter to their beliefs, and there are universal themes in NDE's.

Here's a good intro website to the subject...
