  • Tight-knit family
     OP - January 06, 2012, 12:07 PM

This is mainly for those who have a tight-knit family

I know there are some of us who have tight-knit extended family i.e. Distant cousins that you can trace the same ancestors with them both paternally and maternally e.g. I have cousins whom i can trace our common ancestors from my great-great grandfather who lives in the early 19th century. It can also be a benefit to some of us here such as financial assistance, companionship and other things but at the other hand we all know the price that we have to pay for that.

My main question is, do you think its possible to still maintain relationship with your extended family without comprimising?

-Do you think its worth it in the long run?

-for those who have, how did you manage to do it?
    .

Its difficult to maintain a relationship with them if you know what i mean, which is my primary reason of distancing myself from them apart from few ones who are kindhearted enough not to bother you about religion but you still have to show them courtesy out of kindness in return.personally apart from my parents and my maternal grandparents whom have made a major presence in my life because i stayed with them before,i dont think i can make any slight compromise to anyone
