    How old were you when you apostatized?

    Hey kids, can you all just acknowledge that different guys have different results from the procedure? And that just because you personally have no adverse effects or complications within your immediate sphere of existence, those effects and complications do actually exist in the wider world?

    23 but i stopped putting up the false pretense when i was 26 and that was the year i started to become open about it.

    K, allat, Ishina, and Lilyesque, here is the Q's serious reply:

    I acknowledge that

    (1) those men who were circumcised after infancy may have legitimate and understandable mental trauma over the pain and experience (I have acknowledged this from the beginning).

    (2) a small minority of those men who have received neonatal circumcision may have experienced significant loss of sexual function/pleasure (e.g. erectile dysfunction, etc), and those folks I also feel empathy for and think they have a legitimate right to be very angry/upset/traumatized.

    (3) studies showing reduction in HIV transmission due to circumcision were significantly methodologically flawed and current evidence suggests effects are minimal.

    HOWEVER

    for those who don't fall into either category above, I find the whole idea of those I've come across who are greatly offended and angry over their parents circumcising them strictly on principle to be a bit like the rich kid who feels abused by their parents because they were emotionally distant-- cry me a fuckin river. I have no empathy/sympathy for them and am a bit disgusted at their unwarranted sense of oppression.

    People out there are born blind, deaf, dumb, no legs, or with some other disabilities. It doesn't make sense for me to complain about having a circumcised dick.  I'm grateful for whatever I do have. At least I have a dick and that's all that matters to me. I'm not saying people don't have a legitimate reason to complain about it, but I'm just talking about myself.
