He's currently arguing with God that he doesn't exist. Once Christopher convinces God that he doesn't exist, God will disappear in a poof of contradiction and heaven and hell with start to crumble without the divine edifice keeping them afloat. Soon all the souls from hell and heaven will have nowhere to go and will flood into our world, where we will harvest them for clean energy to save us from AGW and hopefully starve the Saudi Salafists from their oil money.

One of those souls will obviously be Christopher Hitchens'. As such his soul, like everyone else's, is bound to end up as electricity. Maybe he'll be the bits that charge my mp3 player, so that I can listen to Hitchens' debates mp3s running on Hitchens soul electricity juice. It'll be a fitting end.

He is currently in hell with Paine, Diderot, and Ingersoll organizing a coup to take over hell and turn it into a liberal democracy, with a whiskey based economy.

I imagine that the ideal after-life for Hitchens would involve him hanging out with George Orwell, Thomas Paine, Philip Larkin and all his literary and political heroes. Sipping tea with Orwell and supping the single malt with everyone else.
