Scientists have revealed the ‘real reason’ why dinosaurs became extinct

Whilst attending the 14th annual Royal Society lecture, a group of scientists from the King Abdullah II Science and Technology Institute has presented irrefutable evidence that will overturn the generally accepted view as to why dinosaurs became extinct.

The now much derided commonly accepted view was that the sudden disappearance of dinosaurs was part of a mass extinction brought about by two perfectly natural destructive events. The first of these was the collision with the Earth of a meteorite landing in what is now the Yucatan Peninsula, of Mexico. This was followed by an enormous volcanic eruption which split what is now India in half.

However, the group of virtuous scientists, utilising such research methods as reading verses from the Qur’an and thinking really hard about it, have concluded that the reason why the dinosaurs became extinct is because they failed to ‘glorify Allah’. The crux of their argument rests upon a verse in The Holy Qur’an (18:7) in which Allah explains why he created all things:

"Surely I have created all that is on earth and its ornaments that I may test which of them is best in conduct."

Professor of Islamic Paleontology Asmaa bint Jahil explains that ‘what we discovered from our extensive research is that Allah reinforces the message time and time again that all creatures were created to worship him. What we find from the authenticated historical narratives of the Qur’an is that when a people or nation become arrogant and disobedient then Allah punishes every single one of them with mass extinction. I believe this to be the case with dinosaurs.’

Other cases of mass extinction officially recorded in the historical archives of the British Natural History Museum include the Firawn’s people, the people of Lot and the people of Noah. The History Scholar at Istanbul University, Adnan Oktar, chronicles these events in his best-selling book ‘Perished Nations’, in which he relates that any time a group of idol worshippers goes astray from Allah’s divine plan then they are destroyed. Indeed Allah promises in the Qur’an that ‘If, you turn away, He will replace you with another nation. They will not be (disobedient) like you’ (47:38).

You will find your answers there. I find it astonishing that people refuse to accept logical/coherent arguments from sholars of Islam.

It just goes to confirm my suspicions that CEMB is funded by the Israelis.

I went to your blog, Jedi, and I tried to watch the video of Pencil Waving Sheikh, but I am afraid I have children present, and one of them is pointing at Pencil Waving Sheikh and with each "Subhannah.." this child is becoming more upset and indeed is now huddled tearfully in my lap, repeating these words: "Mommy, I don't want to watch that." over and over. So I am afraid I have to watch it later, sans children. Maybe you have to label this as Not Safe For Children. Or PG13.

Scientists have estimated that over the course of Earth's history, anywhere between 1 and 4 billion species have existed on this planet.  http://curiosity.discovery.com/question/how-species-actually-gone-extinct

Done. Rugrats is doing the job.

I am sure if you debate this, the definition will be edited on the part of the scholars to mean something else. Like genus rather than species, or something of that sort.

I doubt it. The genus, genera, comes before species and even then there are loads. Well into the hundred of millions if not billion.

Allahu'akbar! Dinosaurs are proof that there were 90 ft (or was it 70 ft) men (Adam), if the animals were that big and shrunk, the same happened with the humans. And which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny!

I read a news article recently talking about how scientists were trying to figure out how to regress bird DNA to recreate dinosaurs. Maybe the recreation of T-Rex will encourage people to band together and kill off science. Praise be to Allah, this was all his plan from the beginning. It's the prophesied end of days. The lead researcher is the anti-Christ.

    Sorry?

    Quote
Until recently, the origin of birds was one of evolution's great mysteries. But if we now told you that birds were related to dinosaurs, that the sparrow in your garden was a descendant of some of the most voracious, ground-dwelling hunters ever known, you might not be convinced. You might argue that the dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago, and that it seems unlikely something as small and timid as a sparrow could be related to a creature as ferocious as the Velociraptor in Jurassic Park. But fossil evidence from China proves exactly that.

Explore the evidence that helped scientists prove birds are living dinosaurs.

I thought it was one of those history repeats itself things that no one ever learns from like they  should.

Those big mean dinosaurs got so advanced.  Yeap top guys on the food chain. They started to over use thier environment. Kill more prey then they needed just eating the delicacies. Leaving the rest of the carcasses to lay strewn about polluting the land causing disease to spread. They only wanted  omfort. No longer satisfied with the sun to warm their huge bodies they built house with enormous fireplaces to keep them warm. To fuel these fireplaces they clear cut section after section of forest. (Enslaving the smaller dinosaurs to work for them.) As the resources of the earth became scares the wars to control these dwindling resources increased in violance. There was war on every surface of the earth. Death and disease like had never been seen. Gradually after generations all the creatures looked around  at the changed face of the earth. The towering huge dinosaurs were gone.  Only a few had a legend of the greed and waste that had started the great war. Stories spread of the greed of dinosaurs that ruined the earth and how a seeming useless creature called human can to the top because he had a very large brain and didn't abuse the resources of the eath. But now those stories have changed after many generations. The dinosaurs are still greedy and often senseless but they are called dragons. The human are not as often esteemed for their intelligence as for their  physical skills. Now the humans have forgotten that it was the dinosuars greed and misuse of the environment that caused them to become extinct. Will the human remember in time that history repeats itself for those who don't learn it's lessons.

An interesting take on the whole dinosaur myth.

I wonder of the whole 'create something like it' idea can be taken up with the whole bringing dead species back to life.

I remember watching a debate on whether or not to bring the wooly mammoth back to life, but the ethical dilemma was that if we did that then the mammoth, which is a social animal, would be all alone with no one.  Cry

Alligators take care of their young. The fossils of alligators go back as far as very old fossils. So there they were before humans walked the earth as smart as they are now. But humans on a large scale couldn't careless about destroying the habitat of those unimportant alligators. How after all will things be different without them?  Synthetic alligator skin purses are just as good. EVEN BETTER THEY LAST LONGER. Just odd how things are. Kind of out pf focus.

Awhile back I was watching same videos on YouTube that seemed legit that there was evidence that dolphins call each other by name. Seems reasonable that social animals with complex group activities would do that. "Hey you no the other you" would hardly work. After all domestic animals kept as pets learn their given names. If there are several pets in a home they will learn to respond to just the one who's name is spoken. So the concept of being identified as an individual is something they can do. Perhaps not all animals would be able to. For example fish that school it is more of a sensory response to each other then agreed upon plan. It would be kind of interesting to have all the time and resources to be involved in some investigation with different animals just how much they do understand and how they communicate with each other. It would take so much time. Just having pets and farm animals around is endlessly educational as to what animals can learn and how they act and respond to situations.
The wild life as well. Do you live in an area where the birds migrant south for the winter? Ever notice how they meet in the same place every year. How as the group gets bigger they have trial departures. Then what is it that makes them finally leave? What is it they all agree on? Doesn't  seem to be the weather.
(sigh) I suppose I'm finished being off topic (for now.  That seems to be one my favorite positions.)
