    Look what happened to christianity in the west after the reformation. We got the right to read the bible for ourselves and determine for ourselves what the words meant. This caused the creation of lots of new christian sects which in the end had to agree not to kill ech-other which was the rational for religious liberty. Biblical scholars started to uncover how the bible was put together and they have given the sceptics lots of  ammunition.

    Now, if we only could convince the believers of Islam that they can read the Quran and the Hadhits in their own language and make up their own minds about it without needing to agree with the interpretations made by any Imam...

    I think the best way to promote a reformation is to promote scientific literacy amongst muslims, by encouraging them to read pop science books on cosmology and the theory of evolution. IME of debating muslims on the web, the ones who embrace or are sympathetic to secularism, also tend to be scentifically literate.
