He was the greatest man ever to walk the Earth, his every word and action even today are followed by over a billion and a half people, and his legacy in both the spiritual and political realms have shaped the world more than any other figure in history.
Yet the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) remains a mystery to the non-Muslim world, most of whom know very little if anything about his life, message or achievements. What little is known mostly comes from the likes of tabloid journalists or jingoistic politicians; at best distorted, at worst intentionally slanderous.
It is the responsibility of all Muslims to fill this knowledge gap in society with the truth, before it is filled by those who have an interest in seeing the Prophet of Islam demonised. Rather than sit back and wait for another insulting book, picture or video, it is time we took the driving seat and directed the discussion about Muhammad (peace be upon him) in a positive way. It’s time for the world to ‘Know Muhammad’.
▶ Isn’t this issue all over and done with, why bring it up now?
Whether it is through blasphemous images, cartoons or videos, there are those who wish to use our love and respect for our Prophet (saw) as a means to attack the very heart of our belief. While the latest onslaught may have died down, rather than sit and wait for the next time, the onus is on us to proactively educate people on who Muhammad (saw) really was so that he cannot be defamed so easily.
▶ What do you hope to achieve?
Muhammad (SAW) by any standard was the greatest person to grace this planet. We hope to make this case so strongly, clearly and convincingly that even non-Muslims will have to acknowledge his status, which is no less than he (SAW) deserves.
▶ What difference can I make?
All the difference! This campaign means nothing if it is not taken out to the wider community, and this is where you come in. We will provide the arguments, the material and the ideas. All you have to do is take them out to your work colleagues, college and university campuses and local communities. Let everyone Know Muhammad (SAW)!
▶ How do I speak to non-Muslims about Muhammad (SAW)?
We have made it so easy for you, as all the best discussions have been laid out for you, we have provided leaflets to hand out and there will even be events specifically for non-Muslims.
▶ How long will this campaign last?
Until at least summer 2013.
▶ Are there any events to bring my non-Muslim colleagues to?

▶ Is this campaign only aimed at non-Muslims, surely Muslims all know who Muhammad (SAW) is?
Whilst aspect of the Prophet (SAW) are well known by all Muslims, there are aspects which could be better understood, for example his role as a political leader.
