  • Does the quran itself debunk the embryology miracle

"Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down rain, and He Who knows what is in the wombs. Nor does any one know what it is that he will earn on the morrow: Nor does any one know in what land he is to die."

if only allah knows what is in the wombs, then all this modern embryological science must be nonsense, and we cant rely on it to prove the quran.

Or, considering we now do know what goes on because of modern science, it disproves the quran because not only allah knows. You can take it either way.

I also remember coming across a particular verse in the Qur'an and it's related tafsir that states only Allah knows the sex of the child within the womb.

It's a good thing that the 20th Century caught up with Allah technology.

No free mixing of the sexes is permitted on these forums or via PM or the various chat groups that are operating.

That is a question worth asking though. Now we can do this, does it debunk the quran, or is it just relevant to it's time?

Nothing debunks the quran. Quran is perfect Alhamdulillah. It debunks 'science'.

Yup. I was just reading through ummah and learning that proven scientific claims are just "theories". You know, like gravity.

And We (God) created man from a quintessence (gentle extraction) of clay. We then placed him as a nutfah(drop) in a place of settlement, firmly fixed (i.e. the womb). Then We made the drop into an ‘  alaqah (clinging form), and then We changed the clinging form into a mudghah (chewed-like form), then We made out of that chewed-like form, izam (skeleton, bones), then We clothed the bones with lahm (muscles, flesh), then We (ansha’ nahu), caused him to grow and come into being and attain the definitive (human) form. Blessed be God, the Perfect creator.

    Surah Al-Mu’minoon (The Believers) 23: 12-14

    1) Why does Allah referred to in the plural, I thought there was just one GOD Huh?
    2) Why can't scientists extract clay from our bodies Huh?
    3) An embryo looks like a chewed up substance, how poetic and scientific
    4) I don't see reference made to the make up of bones :
periosteum (It's a thin, dense membrane that contains nerves and blood vessels that nourish the bone)
compact bone. This part is smooth and very hard. It's the part you see when you look at a skeleton)
cancellous bone, which looks a bit like a sponge. Cancellous bone is not quite as hard as compact bone, but it is still very strong (many layers).
bone marrow. Bone marrow is sort of like a thick jelly, and its job is to make blood cells.
            Perfect book  Huh?

    What crap  Cheesy

    Technically, they're right.
I find it difficult to believe that for hundreds of thousands of years people jumped off of cliffs expecting to fly or float until Newton came along with his proof that objects fall to the ground from elevated states. Wink

Out of all the verses in the Quran that could be used, to self-incriminate, to puncture its veracity, this is my favourite verse. I think I started a thread on this verse?? When younger my parents would say that the knowledge of the sex of the unborn child is only with Allah. I have never reminded them since. Though with the advent of untra-sound the 'tafsir' has changed - now it is that only Allah knows if the unborn child will be good or bad (which has its own inherent problems).

Weather forecasting is much improved. Workers have salaries/hour rates. Ultrasound. And this is elevated to the level of not knowing the hour of the Day of Judgement.

I am my own worst enemy and best friend, itsa bit of a squeeze in a three-quarter bed, tho. Unhinged!? If I was a dog I would be having kittens, that is unhinged. Footloose n fancy free, forced to fit, fated to fly. One or 2 words, 3 and 3/thirds, looking comely but lonely, till I made them homely.D

Just thought of another worst verse, in the same vein, even more damning. The one with shooting stars being spears aimed at djinns. Seriously? I know Dawkins asked Mehdi Hasan about the winged horse trip to heaven, this would have been better.

How can any believing Muslim talk themselves out of that one?

They don't seem to understand a scientific theory though. They seem to regard the word theory the way a man on the street does. A scientific theory is different from how most people use the word.
