That new ex-muslim anger is understandable. But I would suggest you try and make your points without resorting to sexist name-calling, which is what an ignorant Muslim might do. Don't let anger make you do the things that those who make you angry would love to see you do.

I'm sorry, it just gets me sometimes. It really grinds my gears to see ingrates such as Dawahfilms and this woman who shouts 'Islam is the better deen' in a land ruled by kafirs and enjoying it's many freedoms and bounty, while I live in a shithole country ruled by muslims who would send me to jail if they knew of my apostasy.

Seriously, Western countries should have some sort of programme where delusional ingrate Muslims like these are rounded up, load them all on a plane and get parachuted down other Muslim countries like Pakistan or Afghanistan or Iran or Sudan, see if they like the taste of their own shitty medicine.

I hear you. It is really ridiculous how privilege can blind people to how things are for other people who are not so lucky.

A white lesbian woman in her late 20s that I am vaguely acquainted with (a former neighbour) recently converted to Islam. She'd posted some bullshit hipster story about how misunderstood shariah is, and how it's really not that bad. I gave her a piece of my mind and called her on her privilege. Noticed today that story is no longer on her page. Might be she's blocked me from seeing it. Does not matter. I am making sure everything I post about Islam and Muslims is visible to her.

Btw, can you give a link to her page?  dance

your definition of extramarital sex may be different from Sunni extramarital sex, Shia extramarital sex  and extramarital sex in Muslims who never read Islamic scriptures DH.  So unless you convert int o Islam and come back as apostate people should not believe  you..

lulz since every body is born a muslim, then all the kafiroons we have today are technically apostates, and Muslims have the responsibility to slay all of them since apostasy is punished by death.

What is annoying about converts is....they should know better.

I mean, we all understand the social/cultural indoctrination and compulsion that goes spreading religion. It's understandable how perfectly reasonable people can cling to them.
However, someone with a modern education living in a modern society with no childhood indoctrination or social pressure picks up the Quran and goes "Hay, this is like totally awesome and super insightful, it must totally be god's monolog"....no offense to any former converts or whatever else (we'll chalk it up to temporary insanity)....but I really dont get that.

That's kind of an open question.....what were you thinking?
It's kind of an ongoing fascination of mine, and I've never actually been religious, so I have trouble relating to that mindset.

Interesting how a baby will "forget" Islam if you never mention religion to them.  Wink

Converts don't confuse me. All the things that keep people in religion are available to those who convert too. What I don't get is why anyone would convert to Islam specifically. It's so obviously culture bound; doesn't it seem weird that God's universal message to mankind comes in one language and that he doesn't like to be talked to in any other? Even Christianity doesn't have this problem.

No, I think he has a point. I don't know how someone from the outside could find Islam attractive. I would definitely be interested in hearing why someone would convert to it. I wouldn't call them dumb though. Just...misguided.

For a person who already has a preconceived notion of a god, the lies and half-truths plied by dawahgandists can seem VERY convincing. This is obvious when addressing a christian (or someone they percieve to be christian, as I got the jesus spiel) they will make huge claims for the importance of jesus within islam.. that is until they have you saying shahada when you get left find out the real perception of their version of jesus. To convince atheists, they only have the miracle claims to fall back on, which only started being touted (and not coincidentally in my opinion) once Islam came into contact with the growth of passive atheism so common now in the west.

I really meant it as no offense.
We all do silly things, that we should know better.
I didnt mean to phrase it like "they're stupid", but more  "at a point in their life their thinking must have been way off".

In high school when I was having my doubts and trying to suppress them I noticed that most of the converts I met in the mosque or the classes the mosque gave were not all that together.   We all go thru phases where we are looking for answers to the big questions and I think dawagandists take advantage of people who are in that phase and the less critically thinking faculties they have the better.  There were a few I remember seeing a few times but stopped going altogether.  I'd like to think that they smelled the coffee, they were mostly women.  I wonder if any of them read this forum.

Oh my Christopher Hitchens its a fihrrrrrrrrrrrr
