Ramadan and Gay pride starts on the same weekend Smiley
Anyone ever gone to any gay pride parades or festivities?

I was in those parades as a child. I got sick of the prejudice lesbians had against my brother, they believed in gender segregation and thought my mother should give him to his father instead of sharing custody. They got viciously verbal, and I did not attend after that. I think I was six. I hear the parades get racier, now.

Yeah like I'm all about supporting gay rights. But those parties are just pretty much insane with sexier almost naked rainbow attire and lots and lots of alcohol.

They used to be more family friendly. You would go through town and then listen to a concert and buy food and trinkets, like any other festival. But I have never been to Oktoberfest. Maybe it is like that, now. Oktoberfest used to be a family thing, too, around here. I don't think it is now.

I remember going to a Gay Pride Event with some uni friends in Manchester whilst I was studying there. I was surprised to see asian crossdressers draped in luxurious sarees and dancing to Bollywood music. I remember the hairy feet of one particular wo-man.

I've been, fun times were had. Apparently 10 Downing Street is going to be flying the rainbow flag. three, I'm very surprised by your experience.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Don't the kids go in the parades there? They put me in an antique car.

This is the part I was surprised at, not the fact children where there.

I know, I was shocked, too. As a kid I thought all women liked kids, that they were all mommy material. It never occurred to me that they would treat children differently by gender. Then, as they were coming from what was at the time an oppressed minority, I was floored they would discriminate. Nazi thinking is everywhere, I suppose. I hope it was a fad. I haven't met any lesbians like that since then. I suppose my mother might have, but she doesn't have much reason to talk gender politics in the Family, since she no longer has small children tagging along with her and she doesn't do protests.
