  • Signs of the last day
     OP - August 02, 2014, 06:56 PM

Hi everyone, I left Islam about 18 months ago, but as I'm not of age, I still live with my (unknowing) parents.
Recently, my mum has been making me watch youtube vids about the day of judgement, and some of them are fairly worrying, one in particular due to recent events in Gaza, about a prediction made in a hadith.
Is it true? Or is it just being manipulated to seem true?

Hello HighlandWell ., that is OK., there is nothing wrong in living with parents until you can stand on your own legs. So you left Islam 18 months ago,..

why? what did Islam do to you?  Huh? Does Islam care about who left Islam or who didn't leave Islam?  I don't  think Islam cares about such things..

    What hadith? What prediction?

You need to quote it, so we can answer your question.

It's true that we ex-Muslims have superpowers, but we haven't quite perfected mind-reading yet.

    Signs of Last days

One of the pronouncements given to us by the Prophet (saas) about the End Times is the following:
"Great cities will be ruined and it will be as if they had not existed the day before.(Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir al-Zaman)"

"Corruption has appeared in both land and sea because of what people's own hands have brought about so that they may taste something of what they have done so that hopefully they will turn back." (Surat ar-Rum: 41)

    Quote
What Happens in Final Battle Before the Last Day?

{Say: None in the heavens or on earth, except God, knows what is hidden: nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up [for judgment].} (An-Naml 27:65)

The Quran also predicts about the coming of two tribes called Gog and Magog, in connection with the Last Day. Dr Muzammil Siddiqui has this to say on the subject:

Ya’juj and Ma’juj, or Gog and Magog, are mentioned in the Qur'an in two places: in Surat Al-Kahf 18:94 and in Surat Al-Anbiyaa’ 21:96. There are several hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about them. Gog and Magog are also mentioned in the Bible in the book of Ezekiel chapters 38-39. Some commentators of the Quran, under the influence of the Bible, tried to identify them with the people of Russia and Caucasia, but there is no basis for this neither in the Quran nor in the Hadith.

We do not need to identify Gog and Magog with any nation or race. It seems that it is a generic name for some wild, unruly, barbaric, uncivilized, and un-religious people. They were causing trouble in the past, and then, again, they or some people like them will cause some mischief before the end of the world. It is reported in the Hadith that Imam Mahdi and Jesus (may Allah be pleased with both of them) will destroy them and then peace will prevail on this earth. May Allah protect us from their trials. Amen.

Thus, Islamic tradition speaks of a major war of the Muslims (including those Jews and Christians who follow Jesus after his return) led by Imam Mahdi, against the kafirs (non-believers) and mushriks (the polytheists) led by the Antichrist. In this battle, Jesus will kill the Dajjal and there will be a peaceful government under him until his death (peace be upon him).

It is true that some people have applied the predictions in the Quran and the Hadith, to recent events like the Gulf War. But good scholars are careful not to specifically point to any particular historical event, or to any particular person in this connection, as they know that clear knowledge of the hour is with Allah alone.

As Muslims, we must seek refuge with Allah from the tribulations in general, and from the torments of the Antichrist in particular; we must pray to Allah openly and in secret, to help us remain steadfast both in this world and in the Hereafter.

And Allah knows best. Thank you and please keep in touch.

I like that last sentence .. "THANK YOU VERY MUCH ..PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH..

    well after that watch tubes..

Coincidence is a strange thing. Coincidences can make us doubt our beliefs (or lack thereof). But it's important to remember that coincidence is just that: coincidence. I could make a whole lot of vague predictions too, predictions with no expiration date like Muhammad did, and some of them are bound to come true.

Read up on all the signs of the last day according to Muhammad--look at just how incredibly vague many of them are, and look at how the overwhelming majority of them have not and will not come true.

Also it might subconsciously push towards certain things happening.
