Really good video, thanks for sharing.

Although, Islam took the concept of hell further and more in detail.

Excellent video, Singh - thanks for posting!!  Afro

It took me a long time to shake the concept of hell from my mind.

I think it's harder for Muslims to rid themselves of Hell, because as the video states, there is actually not much textual authority for hell in the Bible.

But there is a shitload in the Qur'an - and that's the "word of God"!!

It seems that by the time Islam came the concept of Hell was being peddled amongst Christians and so Islam just ran with it.

The concept of Heaven & Hell have proven to be powerful motivating forces - the ultimate carrot and stick.

Excellent video. I struggled with the fear of hell for years. It took a long time before I suddenly realized that fear was gone, and then I was so happy.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I have a sonic screwdriver, a tricorder, and a Type 2 phaser.

I still sometimes struggle with the idea of hell. Sometimes I feel like the girl from the video, depending on my mood.
I took the first steps out of the building, but I still fear sometimes that somebody says something which could lead me to go back to the prison of religion. Yes, I think about religion more as a prison. If you're long time inside, you fear about the life outside.

That is one of the reasons why I'm so interested in books about Islam (against Islam).

Well, it's pretty new for just a few months that I convinced myself that I'm an Atheist.

Anyways, this video helped me thanks  Smiley

It's always interesting that if you introduce a threat whether there's substance behind it or not, the rational faculties come down. If the security at an important building receives a bomb threat, they will evacuate the building even if the threat has every indication of being a hoax. Fear seems to be an effective way of bypassing rational thought. It comes from our evolution. Better to err far on the safe side than to err in a way that costs you your life
