  • Copenhagen: New large Shia mosque likely controlled by Iran opens
     OP - October 01, 2015, 08:46 PM

So the War of the Islamic Succession is also on in Denmark - last year this Qatar-, possibly Muslim Brotherhood-linked mosque opened:

    Grand Mosque opening in Copenhagen.

Today this new Shia-mosque opened after more than six years:

The Imam Ali Mosque opened in Copenhagen's Nordvest district on October 1st.

Mohammed Mehdi Khademi, imam at Iman Ali Moskeen (right) and mosque spokesman Murtaza Al-shawi (left).

"Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing" (snippet from 29:45 /Nikolaj )[/i]

The Imam Ali Mosque opened in Copenhagen's Nordvest district on October 1st.

"Whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - We will surely cause him to live a good life, and We will surely give them their reward according to the best of what they used to do."

Above pictures are from this article:

    Quote
The Local: Largest Shia mosque opens in Copenhagen

Topped with a turquoise dome and two minarets, the Imam Ali Mosque opened its doors on Thursday in preparation for its first Friday prayer service.

Denmark’s largest Shia Muslim mosque opened in Copenhagen on Thursday.

The Imam Ali Mosque is located on Vibevej in Copenhagen’s Nordvest district. The 2,100 square metre mosque is topped by a turquoise dome and two 32-metre minarets and has space for 1,500 people.

The Imam Ali mosque has been in the works since 2009, when plans for its construction were approved by the City of Copenhagen. The new facility has billed itself as “one mosque for all” and has promised services in a variety of languages.

In an invitaiton to its official opening, the Imam Ali Mosque stressed that everyone was welcome.

“Imam Ali Mosque wants to start a competion between similar faith societies to see who can be the most open to the local community. Therefore we look forward to seeing all residents, Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, race, ethnic origin, religion, faith, handicap, age or sexual orientation,” the Facebook event read.

The new mosque comes just a year after a large Sunni mosque was opened in the same district. That mosque, the Hamad Bin Khalifa Civilsation Center, is Denmark’s largest at 6,700 square metres and was surrounded in controversy due to its 150 million kroner in funding from Qatar.

Another mega-mosque backed by the Islamic Society of Denmark is planned for 2017. That mosque is being designed by Henning Larsen Architects and will not have minarets, as it is intended to “combine Nordic architectural traditions with Islamic ones”.

The Islamic Society of Denmark is the organisation that routinely invites hate speakers like Haitham Al-Haddad to preach to our Muslim youth and when you poke a little to them the political Islam seems to start to pour out. Anjem Choudary also preached there "unofficially" when he visited Denmark last time.
They are orthodox Sunni and they accept all four Madhabs but at least one of their prominent preachers, Dr. Kamran Shah, preach that if one obtain the "right knowledge of the Sunnah of the Salaf" and the Madhab says otherwise the Sunnah of the Salaf overrides the Madhab. And that a common person does not need to follow a specific Madhab because for a common person that person's Sheikh is that person's Madhab.

So now we have a grand Muslim Brotherhood mosque/community center, a grand Iranian regime Shia mosque/community center and an orthodox Sunni mosque/community center. All within a distance of 3 kilometers.

Nothing motivates as a little competition for harvesting peoples' souls.

And then of course we have the Turkish state-sponsored mosques as well. But they mostly live a quiet life and have no stories about radicalisation although they do seem to have a role in preaching the Turkish governments' line.

Add the many small Salafi and bordering on Salafi Jihadist mosques - well, basements -  as well.

And the mosque in Copenhagen used by Hizb ut-Tahrir - they used to be barred from the established Danish mosques but now they preach in the Masjid Al-Faruq. The assassin Omar El-Hussein from the Copenhagen killings in February reportedly attended the Jummah Khutbah there the day before. For some reason the video of the khutbah has been removed on the mosque's Facebook-page. It was full of bile against the kuffar and especially the Jews (Omar El-Hussein also attacked the Copenhagen Synagogue where a Bar Mitzvah was on for a 13 year old girl and killed a Danish Jewish guy in charge of checking people's invitations).

Before that venue got used by Hizb ut-Tahrir they housed the Taiba mosque which now has moved to another location nearby as they needed more space. It is linked to Salafi Jihadism and several foiled terror cases and several people frequenting the mosque have been incarcerated in both Denmark and abroad for terror-related activities and some have been killed fighting in Syria for ISIL or Jabhat al-Nusra.

Then we have another Salafi Jihadist mosque named Quba which is now expanding to be able to host 400 instead of 40 worshipers.

The allegedly Muslim Brotherhood-linked mosque has been vandalised a few times where more "puritanical" visitors have scraped off crosses of the internal artistic depiction of the Copenhagen skyline which includes the mosque and the churches and as they rise a giant Danish flag in front of the mosque every time there is a celebration they get their fair bit of scorn by the local "Muslim" thugs as well.

I'm pretty sure the new Shia mosque will have similar if not worse issues.

A Shia woman from Pakistan living here has told me they have gotten threats repeatedly by "Salaf"-looking people when they gathered for religious celebrations in their small non-Iranian-linked mosque in the same area.

One thing I'll say about the two new mosques supported with money from Qatar and Iran, respectively: They actually do seem to try to be open and welcoming to the Danish society and want to make themselves fit in. However I wouldn't go anywhere near the latter if I was a dissenting Iranian.

The Islamic Society of Denmark is a bit more shady in my opinion. And very political in their writings. Sometimes I seem to stumble upon uncomfortable links to the Salafi mosques...
They have been declared a terrorist organisation by the UAE together with about a gazillion others.

Notice that all those Salafi mosques aren't called "mosques" but "masjids" and all label themselves as "community centers" as that opens up the public coffers for funding.

This information is from Danish-Kurdish activist and journalist Deniz Berxwedan Serinci:

    Quote
"Khomeini was a Muslim Che Guevara."

So says the Imam Ali mosque, which opened today in Nørrebro (immigrant heavy part of Copenhagen /Nikolaj):

Here are some facts about the mosque, based on my research and interviews with the contact person for the mosque, Murtaza al-Shawi:
-Ayatollah Khomeini introduced in 1979 an Islamic theocracy in Iran, which according to Amnesty has something like the world record in human rights violations.

The mosque is claiming to be independent. but:
-In 2009 it was documented that it was the former Iranian ambassador Nasser Jasbi who had bought the ground for the mosque (Weekendavisen newspaper, 04/09/09).

-On The mosque's website Khomeini is used as a role model in the PDF book "Amozesh Namaz '(' Exercises in prayers')
    (Danish) Amozesh Namaz, PDF
Why exactly Khomeini and not another ayatollah?

-In 2010 the mosque held a commemoration of Khomeini
(Danish) Vibevej moske hylder Ayatollah Khomeini

-Does The Imam Ali mosque distance itself from Iran's Sharia punishments? "We do not take away from the penalties, since they are written in black and white in the Qur'an," replies al-Shawi.

-In Iran you will be stoned for adultery. Al-Shawi says in response: "If one commits adultery, and drink, and if you step on the toes of others in public, then there are penalties. The same as if we were at home ignoring a red light, then there is punishment as well. "

-The Imam Ali mosque's preacher is Mehdi Khademi. He is, according to the mosque's own contact al-Shawi "recognized by among others Khamenei and represents among others Khameini" -Khamenei Is the successor to the late Khomeini as leader of the Iranian theocracy.

-What about the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran? In the book "Amozesh Namaz" it says on the subject: "With the help of Allah the Almighty and through a bloody victory won by the sword, the great Islamic Revolution carried fruit. With Imam Khomeini's teachings the complete realization of the Islamic laws will be executed. "(Page 16)

Most of the 20000 Iranians living in Denmark are refugees from the Khomeini regime.

They are not amused. Some comments:

You will soon not be able to escape to anywhere where you can be free from the shitty regime anymore

It's like you have escaped from the Nazis during or before the Second World War to a safe country. Then a command center is built, paid and controlled by the Nazis in the safe country you live in. Sigh.

Are the refugees making a mainstream fuss?

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

I take you mean the Iranian refugees living here who fled the Khomeini regime?

Not really. It has been known since 2009 and there was debates about it back in 2010 and there has been a couple of demonstrations as well.

Many Danish Iranians want to stay far away from the limelight regarding the mosque as many have the freedom to go and visit their family in Iran as there has been quite a few amnesties for those who fled "the war" as they say (while people often actually fled the Khomeini regime) which is a significant source of money for the Iranian economy when people send their families back home money and visits them and take them out to eat and stuff like that.
