    There is hope!

Doesnt sound like he is very religious if you listen to this?  When did he do this speech, and what was it in reference too?

In my opinion he is an agnostic. Anyways this speech was at an event of the From Poverty to Opportunity campaign. Here is the full speech:

It's a shame that any politician has to even justify these things. Even when I was a Muslim I took it for granted that this was way things were done. I always accepted that I lived in a secular country and that religion played no part.

How ironic that now I myself have finally rejected religion it seems that secularism is now being thrown into doubt.

Good for Obama - I hope he is able to push back the religionists and keep them out of politics.

And he doesn't say about the theory of evolution that the "Jury is still out!"  Cheesy

That was a welcomed breath of fresh air after 8 years of Bush.

He does come across as an agnostic. Even though to be elected he did tell a 'story' that he believed in Jesus as his saviour.

Knowing Islam is the only true religion we do not allow propagation of any other religion. How can we allow building of churches and temples when their religion is wrong? Thus we will not allow such wrong things in our countries. - Zakir Naik

Sadly, I think its a little too late for the U.S.  They needed somebody like him instead of Bush, and now Obama is left staring at a country in the midst of financial bankruptcy.

    A good wake up call:

Bush with the help of God drove the world to its knees.

Hopefully Obama with the help of science and reason will return it to some semblance of posperity.

    It is never too late.

It too late when a situation, at best, can only be salvaged from a dreadful situation, to just a bad one.

Bush has accented division across the world - yes it was not all his fault, but he was in a powerful situation and took over the presidency when America was at the top of its game.  He could really have made a difference to the world, not only did he miss the opportunity but he made it worse.

Now all Obama can do is pick up the pieces of a weakened US on the worldstage front - militarilly, culturally, economically & politically.   Cry
