Amine is a genre like any other. There are some good ones, some bad ones. I find most animes crap because they repeat the same format over and over again. There are however some absolute gems.

Hellsing, Death Note, Attack On Titan and a few others I'd have to look up the name for. Love 'em.

I wasn't impressed by the live action films. Hopefully the TV show takes it up several notches.

You lucky that Us Americans didn't get the rights to the anime series to turn it into a film. I mean so far we haven't been good at adapting it.
