  • Islam: The Game
     OP - May 11, 2009, 06:16 PM

Okay so I've been thinking about this for a while, and the video I'm watching just reminded me of it. The speaker was talking about how you get rewards for every smile that you give, then he did some calculation of 10 smiles a day x 365 days a year ... etc to show Muslims they should smile cuz of all the points they'd get.

I just find it so funny that a lot of things in Islam are based on this points system. Things like "every little good deed counts" are often said. I know there are lots of hadith and things saying like how many good deeds worth each act is in comparison to another, and I'm tempted to make a boardgame/video game version of life according to Islam.

For one thing, I'm thinking all the players start out in hellfire until they say shahada (if they're dealt the born-muslim card then it's easier). Then they start moving around the board and accumulating/losing points. Once they get to the end, we know that nobody will have enough good deeds in their bag to enter Paradise, so then Allah (a player? or maybe a random die?) simply decides whether to bestow his mercy on each of them or send them to Hell. Oh, and of course this will include a "lightning round" of questions at the grave.

What do you guys think? Do you guys know of any points-accumulating deeds, according to the hadith? Any other features the game should have?

You'd need a card "all sins forgiven due to hajj"

Penalty cards could be things like :

Caught lice - fine (because that's islam lol)

    Used left hand - fine

    other things could be:

Caught commiting adultery - instant death

Caught fornicating - miss a few gos because your stuck in prison getting a whipping

There is a board game based on Shariah.  I made a thread about it here...

    I love this idea  Cheesy

You could include elements of "Clue" because each player is supposed to sit there and gauge which of the others is the killer munafiq/murtad.

You'd have to have a lot of Mullahs on the game board... one could get stuck in a circular loop by landing on any of them and then be stuck there forever or until a random event (double sixes or someone else leaving or dying off the game) thrashes that person back into reality.

You could also incorporate "Islamic banking" the latest craze among western muslims and their apologists... have people pay loads of money upfront for mortgages etc, but still get heavenly points because they're giving their money to the Saudis.

Ok I can't come up with ways to make this fun... just really sadistic and depressing. Oh yeah that's cause we're talking about Islam.  Roll Eyes

You know how in some video games you can transport between light and dark worlds, I thought it'd be cool/funny/blaspemous if you could go to Jannah on a Buraq, see Allah and all the prophets in between, and peer down at Jahannam Cheesy

I chose to get circumcised at 17, don't tell me I never believed.

    Cheesy I love these.

You'd also need like a random card that says its the day of arafat- if you've fasted you get exempted from all sins for the next round and the previous round.

Ah, I didn't think to do a search. Thanks Cheetah!

these are great...hahah I love the clue idea the most.

oh and at the end (day of judgement) you can also have players telling on each other to Allah, like it's predicted that they will... i know many muslims that live terrified of this, being accused by others on J-day. Even the ones in hell can be like "so and so didn't show me true Islam Allah!" and then so-and-so will lose 100 points.

Ok I can't come up with ways to make this fun... just really sadistic and depressing. Oh yeah that's cause we're talking about Islam.  Roll Eyes

Yeah see, and the problem is nobody will want to play because it's not a fair game at all and doesn't make any sense.
    Wait a minute...  Thinking hard

Good idea, then we'd get to show graphic versions of paradise and hell.

Here is what I dont get....

There is lots of Do this get double reward in paradise! This is will get you triple reward! This is worth 5,000 prayer points..ect.

But if you're in heaven...... what the heck is "double reward"? 144 houris?

Its like saying: "Do this and you get infinity $$$, but do this and you get Infinity + a billion $$$"
It doesnt make any real sense.

I thought double the reward was basically double the points towards your entry into heaven.

The more hassana's you have, the more chance of getting in.

Yeah that's how I interpret it as well. Of course the trick is that no matter how many points you get you'll still not have enough to enter Paradise...in the end its all up to Allah's "mercy".

    True.

Oh, and lets not forget that if you haven't forgiven people then you can end up in hell, and if they haven't forgiven you for something you did, then they can refuse you entrance.

That's why it's recommended to not cross a non muslim, because they will refuse you entrance out of spite..........lol, or at least that's what I was always told.  Cheesy

Do you think I can start a business

Like a accountant for sins/good deeds? Find loopholes, do audits, and so forth.

Like I can advise my client: "Ok, you can rape that woman, but It will cost you 20 quran recitations and a goat sacrifice" or something.

anyway, if god forgives everything, just by asking forgiveness, then cant your slate get wiped clean every day just by asking for forgiveness every day? Therefor, it would be easy to stay out of dept, unless you can build up more bad deeds in one day than your lifetime of good ones.....This is confusing

So is Islam's point system clear like Catholics one? IE you need to 20 rosaries for a bad thought etc

Or is it unclear like Mo made it up to shut them up and never thought of a real system?
