That was my point. You asked if current science was only rediscovering ancient knowledge. Awais suggested yes (the Antikythera gizmo). I used another example to point out that we have discovered a lot of things that ancient people did not know about. That includes a lot of things about astronomy too, which is what the Antikythera gizmo was designed for. It was a great piece of work for its time, but it's no match for the Hubble 'scope.
