Who was the guy on the video? Perhaps Emerald knows? Seems very progressive, but I wonder if he is allowed to say the things he said without getting arrested?

After doing some advanced search, I managed to find the video on Memri TV. He is from Bahrain, the following is the information about the video:

Note, that the interview was made in December 2006. It does not seem to have made much of a difference. Sigh.

I haven't watched the vid - just glanced at this thread and the picture of the guy in a grey thawb and black 'imama - I would say he is a Shi'ah Imam by the dress and style of beard and look.

So what? Shiites are awesome. They've produced some of the best deviant groups and individuals.

I chose to get circumcised at 17, don't tell me I never believed.

Thank you thank you. It's true. Is it the self-flagellation festivals? The generally higher levels of education? The fact that shias are in the minority and hated by many other muslims? I don't know. But they do make awesome ex muslims. It's like when catholics leave the mother church, they sure know how to have fun.
