What I don't understand is why does it have to be pitch black? Why not a more cheerful color?

Man, a few years ago back in Jeddah, they were debating on the radio over whether women should be allowed to drive or not, and the poll showed 60% of Saudis say they should be allowed. I was like "Wow! Maybe there is some hope for my country!" but this news just brought me down. I just know things are gonna get worse there :(

btw some people in the west say women suck at driving, i always like to point out the accidents in traffic in ksa, since there are only men driving.. you think my argument is good?

Dude, do you know we have the largest yearly number of car accidents in the world? It's insane there.
Why don't women drive anyways, you ask? Two reasons that I always hear:
    1. Women are not allowed to leave the house unless accompanied by a close adult male family member. At that point there's no reason for them to learn how to drive.
    2. The really crazy extremists also think that driving a car is a macho masculine thing. And they back it up with hadiths that forbids anyone mimicking anything of the opposite sex. I even heard some of say "Next thing you know, they'll become lesbians!" Oh no, Mr. Imam sir! We wouldn't want thaaat! Roll Eyes  Wink
