Wife hides in Grand Mosque to escape from unwanted husband  .   ..Says news

    Quote
Manama: A Saudi woman hid for days in the Grand Mosque in Makkah to escape from her husband of one month, according to media reports.

    Quote
"The woman, in her 20s, stayed inside the mosque and did not leave it to avoid being with her husband," Saudi daily Al Watan has reported. The disgruntled husband in his 60s, who has children from another marriage, had launched the search for the wife after he alerted the local police about her disappearance

    .

However, the woman refused to go back with the husband and after her brothers who had reportedly forced her to marry him refused to take her back from the police, she was transferred to a special institution in Makkah. A court will decide later on her fate.

The Grand Mosque in Makkah, known in Arabic as Al Masjid Al Haram, is Islam's holiest place and the world's largest mosque.

It houses the Kaaba, the place towards which Muslims worldwide turn while offering prayers, and its doors are never shut down.

Yes.. yes.. In Islam 20 year old woman has to listen to brothers in Islam.. The baboons of Islam .... on personal issues like whom she can  marry and whom  she can not. Allah a says so in Quran.

But the place she was hiding is a good one..

Actually if it was Ramadan, she could have stayed there for the whole month, as food and water is abundant. With millions visit every day, no one would notice her. Especially if she wears a burqa. Afro

The woman has a choice as I recall, she can refuse anyone and everyone, and forced marriages are invalid. Tongue

Problem is this isn't UK or USA - it's Saudi - a woman needs someone to 'look after her'  Roll Eyes - if her family won't take her back she's in trouble.

well they are practicing Islam what they  think is true.,

you know 52 year old can marry/sleep with 9 year old.. So what is the big deal of a 62 year old marrying 22?  She doesn't like it? Tough luck., Pray Allah. be good wife..

Good for her. I hope she doesn't get beaten for it, though.

Anyway, he probably has grandchildren her age. Why would a marriage like that make sense? Maybe she'll get lucky and he'll die before he hits 70. Too bad she won't get a decent inheritance.
