The English Defence League (EDL) is an English far-right single-issue political organisation formed in 2009. Its stated aim is to oppose what it considers as the spread of Islamism, Sharia law and Islamic extremism in England, although the EDL's political direction is being debated within the group.[1][2]

I think that definition is far too extreme kod...  I think that most of them are nothing more than typical unsophisticated, more often than not, pig ignorant football hooligans who got bored of trashing each other and now have found a new excuse to unite and make noise and fight.  This time its fighting loons like Anjem Choundray and the cunts that follow him.. Still there is a good chance that they could be infiltrated by the far right.

They are a bunch of single issue, right wing thugs attempting to masquerade as a serious political organisation - badly.

     Cheesy Damn right

Funny enough, whenever you see an England international game, the flags carried there from most supporters have the names of such esteemed shit clubs like Luton Town, Oldham Athletic, Macclesfield Town, Millwall FC, Blackpool FC etc. Clubs that have a history of links to hooliganism as well as far-right groups.  wacko

That's quite inaccurate atheist.pk. The vast majority of English teams have a history of hooliganism, including the top teams, which is why English clubs were banned from playing in Europe in the 80s.

And when England play, you get their fans from all over the country coming to support them, not just fans from premier league teams which is why you see the flags of lower league teams. There are more fans of non premier league teams in england than there are of premier league teams.

True, and those fans are usually the main core fans of the England side as well.

Hooliganism has thankfully been minimised in England over the last 20 or so years.

    Which years exactly?

This is news to me. I know about the trouble in the Juventus-Liverpool game but I didn't know English teams were banned.

I don't know, there political group seemed based on being Anti-Islam. In their latest protest in Dubley, apparently they are blaming the Muslims for starting the riot?

Having met a few members, and threatened by one, I feel I can safely say that they themselves are spoiling for a rowdy fight too.  Of course they will point the finger at the other side, but so many of them actually go looking for a fight that it's hard to believe they could be blameless.

Oh definitely. But I dont know how it is in UK. Seems like the right wing nutjobs in America. They try to discriminate on the Muslims and when they try retaliate back, they demonize them and blame all their fault's on them. And Since they are majority, they get away with it

Like Pam Gellar's Atlas Shrug organization. Made only for the sole purpose of to stop "Islamization of USA". The only one backing her up is the right wing conservative christian Tea Party Members.
