Hi All,

My name is Jaimie. I am currently working with CEMB and Maryam as the outreach operator for exmuslims in and outside the UK.

I recently volunteered to set up Skype groups as a way for exmuslims to share and is a safe place to voice your opinions

The Skype: CEMB.Official

It has been tried before and turned out quite successful.

I look forward to chatting with you and hosting interesting calls!

TeamTalk is better. If we all chip in for a linux VPS and a domain name I can set up a server. Only takes 5 minutes.

I don't know what TeamTalk is, but if it's worthwhile I'll chip in. Can you elaborate on how's it's better to use this than Skype?

supports both Celt and Speaks codecs, (so those on a low band width connection can transmit at 8 or 16KBPS as opposed to 32 — without skype automatically trying to botch it up) upload of files to the server which makes for better file sharing as one does not need to be online, multiple channels which can be password protected, etc...

Can't really set it up it until I'm back in the Uk (sept 1st). Testing purposes, you understand. So if you guys want to use Skype I'll be fine with that.

Anything, you can hardly restrict certain filetypes being uploaded to a server you own. Of course you can set a rule that anyone sharing illegal content would be banned by an administrator, but it's no different to skype.

TBH though, I kind of renege on this idea. Skype is popular, if shit fucks up domestically then you can always get someone to help out, server-side issues won't disable the functioning of the protocol unlike the solution I'm proposing, which requires a working understanding of the Linux command line.

Should we add her on Skype? What Administrators or Moderators suggest?
