he does not. he even testified in the very high profile court case in the US where he argued against the teaching of intelligent design. he does not believe in a designer god.

I always wonder why the hell he's a catholic...Everything about him says otherwise.

Perhaps it can be put down to indoctrination on the standard of 'don't question your beliefs or burn in hell' or something of that nature..

the way i see it is that religious education starts early and many understand evolution later on in life. and then there is a paradox. also i notice many like him are closet atheists and agnostics but dont come out because of family / friends or w/e.
