    I know that there is a thread on suicide, but I wanted to make one for a different purpose.

    Each situation is different, but how do you guys handle dealing with suicidal friends and family?

    They really need professional help.

    Other than that just the usual support that friends offer.  Chat with them every so often etc.

    I check up on them more often, and I suppose am generally more supportive.
