Sahaba faces appear on tiles in Egypt?

I don't understand much of the Arabic. But here is an article in English explaining this:

I always though most of the images of "Mary" in the west, that of a cloaked figure, could also just as easily have been Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars.

Is it a co-incidence that the figure just HAPPENS to so closely resemble how they have been depicted in religious art ?

It's a piece from his series Growing up in the universe, which dates from 1991.
In that same show he explains the evolution of the eye. Still amazes me that to this day, 20 years later, creationists still bring up the complexity of the eye as pro creationism.
