     OP - June 22, 2011, 12:20 AM

CNN Organized religion will all but vanish eventually from nine Western-style democracies, a team of mathematicians predict in a new paper based on census data stretching back 100 years.

In the 2006 Australian census 18.7% of Australians described themselves as having No religion a rise of 3% and the largest growth in the number of religious options in the census.

A further 11.9% did not state a religion or inadequately described it.

According to Norris and Inglehart (2004) 25% of Australians do not believe in a god or gods.

Secular marriages overtook religious marriages in 1999,in 2009 66.9% of marriages were celebrated by civil celebrants.

We have elected numerous atheists to the top job of Prime minister in Australia our current PM is atheist and the Mad Monk (catholic?) is leader of the opposition.

Alas, it's highly unlikely to ever happen all over the world.
    Still, pretty cool.

Have you heard the good news? There is no God!

All true, but unfortunately, religion is over-represented in our politics. It's nothing compared to the USA, but it's still a problem, or so I've been told by my politically inclined friends.
