Uh...I don't have much of an opinion. I just want to state if you don't want to remain Muslim, just quit being one. Why do you have to make a federal case out of it? Uh...the fact that you get persecuted after you stop being Muslim is long gone and nobody really cares. There's nothing impressive about you leaving Islam, and no one can really convince you to stay in it. Most of us here, in Islam, are peaceful people who don't mind infidelity - if that is how you put it - and it doesn't make you a pariah if you leave Islam. And that is all I wanted to state...ever. Thank you.

Speak for yourself. There are plenty of people here who post anonymously BECAUSE they will get shunned by their family and friends. Who needs to grow up? How about those who won't allow people to question myths.

Out of all the Islamic sites and forums out there what are you doing searching for an ex- Muslim one?

Hmm That is a good point srhzaidi., Yes you are riot .. and welcome to CEMB., That is a good idea., I think we should take a class action suit and make a federal case against Islam..

Just curious., does it bother you if people discuss Islam and they happened to be Ex-Muslims??

Thank you for your input. However, leaving Islam is not really that simple for alot of the people here. Leaving aside that most of you being peaceful doesn't really solve the problem of violence, leaving any religion can cause problems.

^ good one. a lot of us aren't 'militant' about leaving, nor do we feel that leaving islam inherently automatically makes us better people or something (although it does help, you should try it ). most of all we recognise that leaving islam can on a personal level be difficult given our often strong family/friend ties which leads to very complex emotions and very complex practical situations. we aim to provide what little support we can mainly for people who are going through this, i think.

we also like poking fun at mo every now and then, hehe

Hi srhzaidi, welcome to the forum.

The experiences of every ex Muslim on this forum and elsewhere proves that there is a considerable cost to dissenting from Islam - from casual bullying, slander, family, social and community ostracism, all the way to violence, threats of violence, death threats and people living in fear of their life.

Not everyone experiences this in the same way - there are a spectrum of experiences and reactions.

Not everyone is threatened. But at the very least people feel inhibited from expressing their conscience freely for fear of ostracism or bullying or slander.

And of course, not every Muslim reacts in the same way. But to suggest that there is not a problem and an issue within the ummah towards dissenters and apostates is simply denying factual reality.

1. People do care. Most Muslims live in fear of their parents, community... if they were to announce their atheism. If you live in the West, you might not get killed for it, but you will surely be shunned by most of your community and even your own family. If you don't live in the West... well the Islamists have no problem shooting a a young girl in Pakistan for expressing her views.

2. The Muslims build huge mosques and constantly push their views on everyone. Well... I will push my views were and i can. Hey, at least I don't come to your house and push my ex-Muslim Dawat I just talk to the people I deal with and post on a forum. I don't tell you to stop pushing your view... I'll push my own view thank you. I wish to do good in this world and doing good means getting rid of orthodox Islam. I will try and liberate as many people as I can with the truth about this vile religion.
