I'm more of a humanist. I don't care if someone believes in whatever deity they want, so long as it does not become an obsession that drives them to make the non-believers miserable.

    tl/dr
and I will only accept a "taxonomy of atheists" based on Encyclopaedia Britannica, naturally.
Not being aware of any such atm I think I'm a kind that realized "people are fucking liars and religion is a business inter alia and I was fucking gullible" - is that humanist or political?

    all of the above.....

I would say that I could be more accurately called an anti superstitionist. The atheism is just an aspect of the rejection of superstition as a whole, and it's beyond "a", as I am actively against them.

The foundation of superstition is ignorance, the
superstructure is faith and the dome is a vain hope. Superstition
is the child of ignorance and the mother of misery.

I don't mind superstition light. Religion usually sucks though. I'm just an atheist, anti-superstition is part of it Smiley

While I can identify in part with all of them, I think I'm more of a "scientific atheist" here.

    I'm a humanist.
    Quote
"Our aim is a Humanist world in which human rights are respected and everyone can live a life of dignity.”

That pretty much sums up my ideal world. I don't give a shit what other people believe in as long as everyone's human rights are protected under a secular system.

Being an aspiring scientist naturally I'm a freethinker. I think the scientific method is always valid for deducing what is real and what is not.

Maths and science are beautiful!  What happened to you that something beautiful is felt to be ugly?

May I recommend a book - the Archimedes Palimpsest?  Apart from a fascinating story, the book also describes how Greeks learnt.  It is very thought provoking, and something we do not do with "science" over here and "art" over there.

I lack belief in belief. It gets terribly confusing.
