A Possible dumb question..

A possible dumb question that has crossed my mind from time to time.
Do you think all the casualties and internal wars in the Islamic countries makes an impact on the global Muslim population.
Or will in the future. This comes both from death, and Muslims immigrating elsewhere and 'risking
possibly future generations being assimilated into other cultures.
But then Muslim families have so many kids so does it even matter, and does everything balance out.

I don't think it does. I'm sure the people who actually die because of wars are minute when you look at the actual ratios. Regardless, there are too many converts anyways

I don't think war casualties should have a major impact on populations, since it is women that bear children and most war casualties are men. Unless there is a massive genocide of civilian populations.

What is more likely is that war casualties might increase the levels of polygamy if there are more young women around then there are men. In fact I bet some anthropologists have argued that polygamous societies are more likely to develop in combination with warlike societies.

The biggest human demographic disaster was no war or planned human violence, but rather the bubonic plague in the middle ages. Call me a cynic, but I don't think that warfare and violent death are that outside the norm for vital, even thriving human civilizations.

Edit: Not that I think "Islamic" civilization is thriving. Far from it.

Welp you caught me. I only asked this question because I was hoping that you'd all agree with me, that with all the wars in the Middle East most Muslims would eventually die out and we can finally live in peace.

Question: given the prevalance of war throughout human history, including before the origin of Islam and in areas not affected by the spread of Islam, what the fuck makes you think that an absence of Muslims would equate to an absence of war?

Well, so much for that idea.

Well you see most of the wars are in the Middle East by Muslims and Muslim terrorist organizations. If the Muslim population dies down there would be less wars, and we'd only have North Korea to worry about. Because of course all Muslims are violent terrible people and must be stopped at all costs. So if the Middle East continues to be enveloped by war and Muslims keep killing each other, Shia, Sunni etc. etc. their numbers will eventually either die down or remain stagnant, so it's perfect for the rest of us who will continue to thrive and grow with high life expectancy rates in secular modern countries; women will be free, no more blasphemy charges, no more honor killings and world hunger would be solved.
