  • Satan..is without any certain abode
     OP - July 31, 2013, 12:54 PM

Daniel Defoe wrote that Satan's empire is in the air.

Is it not therefore haram for aMuslim to fly?

When you are a Bear of Very Little Brain, and you Think of Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it.

Yeah, I'm quite certain that Muslims rely on Daniel Defoe's writing when determining matters of their religion.

    Cool thread.

He's no friend to the friendless
And he's the mother of grief
    There's only sorrow for tomorrow

When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called a Religion.

Personally, I think a willingness to ask speculative questions based on not-even-half-thought-through observations of the world is rather charming. Would that we were all so resolute in our determination to be indistinguishable from three year-olds.

    moi, I salute you.

The Defoe comment is at the beginning of Satanic Verses...

And we have had a comment here about bringing children in from the garden because Jinn might get them, that to me sounds like three year old thinking about not stepping on pavement cracks because of trolls.

So why not extend the rules of a religion?  Or does the aluminium keep the jinn away from aircraft passengers?

Why not have new rules for the twenty first century?

Well.. new rules is bidaah! Furthermore that's some kind of blasphemy against satan.. Satan doesnt live in the sky.. they live in the ocean a.k.a Bermuda triangle
