  • The meaning of totalitarianism

    http://xeniagreekmuslimah.wordpress.com/2010/10/07/lower-your-gaze-an-amazing-story/

I remember this one from a kutba at LSE, one of the last I attended. The boy-preacher who used the hadith to alude to something naughty he had got up to (probably having a sly wank or even just looking at a girl on the bus -- this was in summer),

    What a bunch of assholes.

Suppress the sex urge, construct a reality in which there's an Allah who creeps up THAT close, close enough to your groin, close enough to sniff out the sin of cum. That's the true meaning of totalitarianism.

The Divisions of Love, second album by my Cabbalacore band, the Friends of Design, out now:

A celestial North Korea where you're convicted of thought crime.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

Closer than that. Violating your mother and dictating who you'll be before you even take your first breath.

Too fucking busy, and vice versa.
