If Israel has nuclear weapons there's no reason why Iran shouldn't. There's a naked double-standard here.
I don't think there is a double standard here, the problem Iran has like North Korea is they have signed the nuclear non proliferation treaty which prohibits you from making nuclear weapons, this treaty also requires inspections for compliance.
Iran can withdraw from this treaty like North Korea did which will result in more sanctions along with being labelled a rogue nuclear state,Iran can also comply with the treaty which will probably be the best option for them.
If you are smart enough to figure out how to make nuclear weapons without help from others like India,Pakistan and Israel have done you can have them, i should point out Israel,Pakistan and India have not signed the non proliferation treaty so they are not bound by the terms and conditions of that treaty.
Why do people only single out Israel when Pakistan and India also have nuclear weapons and have not signed the NPT?
Iran are not in compliance with the terms of the non proliferation treaty which is why they have problems, a good website on Irans programs-
www.iranwatch.orgI don't think it is a good idea for people called Mad Mullah's to be in control of nuclear weapons, a secular Iran run by people like Maryam Namazie would not concern me if they had a nuclear bomb
