  • Being a good person for a reward?

One thing I have noticed about muslims is how they seem to only be nice and help out simply for a reward. I am not saying all are like it, but it seems to me that they only act nice, give smiles and act compassionate simply to get into paradise. I think it sad and pathetic that muslims are only nice to simply get rewarded in the hereafter because it seems like they don't actually care or they don't want to help you simply to help you, they are only helping to please Allah. The bottom line is, if you are good simply out of fear and wanting to get rewarded, than you are not a good person at all. When I help somebody, I do not look for a reward or bonus. I help them regardless, and they should too.

Not really. When they are nice they are genuinely nice. The tribal roots will always show. When they like you, they are usually very loyal and trustworthy friends. If religion gets in the way, they will simply distance themselves from you. When it seems they are taking care of their paretns, then they are genuinly taking care of their parents. It's tribal. Even with the christian arabs you will get the same from them.

Some will befriend you to give u dawa and get some paradise brownies from it. But this is often an excuse they make to themselves, so they can be your friends without feeling guilty.
