That's quite worrying because I would imagine the BNP vote is underestimated by opinion polls, for similar reasons to Pakistani support for Sharia being overestimated.  A lot of people don't even admit to voting Tory to opinion pollsters, so I bet they're even less likely to admit to the BNP.

    Exactly.
I blame the main 3 parties for their fear over talking about immigration for fear of being called racist. Controlling who comes in and out of a country is not racism but common sense but this attitude has driven many traditional labour supporters to BNP.

Wasn't there a male MP who claimed for tampons and women's clothes?

With Tory MP's I wouldn't be at all surprised. They do have a reputation.  whistling2

I have to say, I am bloody impressed by your knowledge of british politics in the early 90s! Not bad for an aussie!

They have released photocopies of the actual expenses documents. You can find out what yours is here by typing in your postcode:

Just found out my local MP claimed ?132,318 in expenses. A lot of it, it has been written, is "petty cash", with no need for further explanation. And this is the same MP who I sent an email to 3 times, each time making it more and more clearer what my contact details were, and with each one I got a reply saying "sorry we do not consider any emails that don't contain contact details."

So you're outraged by the expenses...

Then what about the wholesale theft and exploitation by the capitalist institutions every single day?

What do you mean by "capitalist institutions?" That could mean a million and one things including my household. So my family are thieves and exploiters? If you mean capitalist businesses, then what about the small businesses that are grateful for every customer they get these days? Are they thieves and exploiters?

So can you tell me which "capitalist institutions" have been thieving and exploiting, how you know, and what your solution is?
