Yes, and why do the christians associate themselves with democracy? Yes there is a problem with extremists in the U.K, which needs to be dealt with through free inquiry and the light of reason. Let the Christians be reminded though, lest they forget, that it was through the struggle of reason and the enlightenment that they have these secular democratic values and not because of so called Christian values and tolerance.

Judaism realised early that theocracy is a dumb idea and apart from a few fringe groups wearing black hats, you're hard pressed to find a Jew who supports a theocracy.

Mate, learn this: Christians aren't part of Judaism, and in practical terms western history contains plenty of theocracy.

Well when people get sentenced to death for "crimes" such as heresy and blasphemy, which used to be fairly common in the west, you have the church imposing its laws on society. In practical terms this is theocracy.

Which again contravenes Christianity 101.

Again, learn the difference between theory and practice.

In one corner you have Islam with Muslims who demand Sharia law and the call for Sharia law is a cornerstone requirement of being a Muslim.

In another corner you have Christianity with a history of using claims of heresy and blasphemy to pacify the population but contravenes basic Christian doctrine.

Notice the difference? Unlike you, I don't play moral equivalence. I look at the way people behave, I look at what their scriptures say - and whether there is a discrepancy. There is no discrepancy between Muslims demanding Sharia law and what Islam demands from its adherents.

Sure what Britain is doing regarding radical Muslims can be sometimes described as 'bending over', but it's not because they 'lost faith in Christianity' like that dumbfuck puts it. Democracy in Britain(and Europe in general) flourished, not because of Christianity, but rather due the gradual 'watering down' of Christianity and introducing SECULAR democracy.

Infidel, totaly agree with you there, I'm an atheist and the less religion has to do with government the better, other than the christian bit the video did spell out the problems we face here.

I suggest you read Dr Israel Shahak's book "Jewish History, Jewish Religion: The Weight of 3000 Years" to see that what you said is actually very inaccurate about Judaism and Jews.

Actually, now that you mentioned it, I sounded like an asshole in my previous post I misunderstood your post.

What I meant to say was that the Jewish clergy have always had a lot of influence and control over Jewish affairs to this day...and that wasnt really really relevant to what you wrote.

For those who aren't familiar with Pat Roberston-- he is all about using the state to impose religious values. He's all around an evil sonofabitch. He called for the assassination of Hugo Chavez and said 9/11 was the fault of secular humanists, liberals, atheists, gays and feminists because God removed his "protection" against our Godless nation and allowed the attack to occur. He favors an aggressive and imperialist policy abroad and an authoritarian, religious program at home. The man is slime and his pontificating on religious extremism is nothing by pure hypocrisy and motivated not by love of secular, liberal democracy (which he quite plainly despises), but by hate for Islam. He is no better than those he criticizes.
