  • Google Chrome Frame.

This is a cool toy. Ideal way to kick Microsoft in the bollocks. bunny

For those not in the know it is a plug-in for IE6, IE7 and IE8 that basically turns IE into Chrome while keeping all the IE user interface.

Introducing Google Chrome Frame and http://code.google.com/chrome/chromeframe/ for a brief rundown.

I'm currently testing it on IE7 and it does seem significantly better, which is hardly surprising given how bad IE7 is. I've added the required meta tag to the head section of our template, so this site is now enabled for detecting Chrome Frame and will automatically default to using it if someone comes here with it installed on their IE.

It will install on IE6, IE7 and IE8 on either XP SP2 and up or on Vista. Since it is a plugin that only runs when it detects the meta tag it should be safe for use on business intranets that are coded for IE. You'd get standard IE on the intranet but have the availability of Chrome's Webkit engine when visiting sites that enable it.  dance

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny
