Intellectual lightweights is correct! They work off a script - a well rehearsed and limited doctrine that spouts the same old rhetoric - when in fact these guys have little or no real grounding in Islamic scholarship. They came straight from the the bars, or boy racer cars that they drunkenly waved their Pakistani flag from the window while their western girlfriend sat in the back - to being Islamic Scholars!

This particular group have been saying the same thing since they first built up a following here in the UK in the early 80s. They were known as HizbuTahrir then and a young Omar Bakri was a member. He then split and formed al-Muhajiroun - he and it was banned - so Anjem Choudhury took over and they went through other incarnations including Islam4UK... not sure what the latest is.
But same rhetoric - same old calls for Khilafah and living by Gods law and voting is haram blah blah blah...
Why are so many people suckered into it and there is a built in refusal to explicitly name these groups by mainstream Muslims as perverters and distorters of Islam? lack of self esteem? group think mentality? Why is it that in the Mosque there is pissing and moaning about how Muslims are hard done by but nothing ever said about groups like al-Muhajiroun and how how parents should watch out for their children going off track or am I expecting too much?
Mindless, slaves who's function is simply to imitate the "pious predecessors" when thinking came to an end and the function of the Human Being is simply to imitate their clothes, their beards and hijabs, their behaviour, their toilet etiquette, and obsessively follow God's Laws like unthinking and unfeeling robots, down to every tiny detail and pray constantly. (You can never pray too much to God)
God must be very proud.
What I find confusing is if they are going to strictly follow the first 3 generations then they should reject madhabs and the hadith collections in their entirety? or is this 'follow the pious predecessors' nothing less than selective retelling of history?
